Nick Vujicic has spent two decades telling the world what it looks like to hope without limits. This Father’s Day weekend, he’s inviting his audience into a chapter that cost him far more than the usual.
“Fatherhood shaped so much of my understanding of perseverance, love and purpose as a father. I’m deeply grateful to my dad — whose example continues to shape how I father my own children. My faith and memories of my dad sustained me through this profound loss,” said Vujicic, the Australian-American evangelist and international speaker born without arms or legs.
The words come from a clip released ahead of NO LIMBS, NO LIMITS: THE NICKV STORY, an award-winning documentary opening in theaters nationwide on September 25. The movie chronicles the life of “NickV” — and wrestles honestly with one of its most personal chapters: the death of his father, and the grief that quietly followed him across every stage and stadium afterward.
Boris Vujicic, Nick’s father, co-founded two churches with his wife, Dushka, in Australia and served as Chief Systems and Financial Officer for Attitude is Altitude, Inc., his son’s global ministry organization. He also authored “Raising the Perfectly Imperfect Child,” drawing directly on the experience of raising Nick.
Boris died of pancreatic cancer in May 2017 at the age of 62. The loss was slow to surface publicly — Nick largely kept it to himself while continuing to minister to millions.

“I guess we all deal with things differently. And for me, I couldn’t talk about my dad,” Vujicic said.
The documentary doesn’t look away from that silence. It examines what it costs to carry grief while publicly calling others toward courage. According to the American Psychological Association, 44% of Americans have lost at least one parent by age 49 — and NO LIMBS, NO LIMITS meets that statistic where it lives.
“I’ve learned how to process it differently and not just let things pile up … but you never stop missing him,” Vujicic said.
Movieguide® has followed Vujicic’s ministry for years — from his evangelism work across 78 countries to his public conversations about faith, mental health, and family. His reach now extends to over a billion people worldwide. But a man that visible still grieves the way everyone else does: quietly, slowly, in the moments between the speaking engagements.
Boris Vujicic wasn’t famous. He and Dushka were ordinary believers who built churches, raised a family, and modeled what it looks like to parent through fear and uncertainty without letting either win. That their son became one of the most recognized Christian voices on earth wasn’t something they planned — it was something they prepared him for by simply staying faithful.
NO LIMBS, NO LIMITS: THE NICKV STORY features never-before-seen family footage alongside interviews with people who shaped Vujicic’s life. Sypher Studios — which produced AFTER DEATH, the highest-grossing faith documentary in history — made the movie alongside Reserve Entertainment, the team behind BLUE MIRACLE and SIGHT. Director Matthew Thayer helms the project, produced by Darren Moorman, P.G.A.; Jason Pamer, P.G.A.; and Jens Jacob, P.G.A., releasing in theaters through Fathom Entertainment.
Tickets are on sale now through Fathom Entertainment. For more information and to watch the teaser trailer, visit nickvfilms.com.
