Would DUCK DYNASTY’S Uncle Si Robertson make a good Disney villain? His friends seem to think so.
“The number one children’s movie in all of America right now is the importance of beaver dams and letting them be,” the “Duck Call Room” podcast host John-David Owen told Si, referring to the new Disney movie HOPPERS.
“Oh no, you gotta blow em’ up with dynamite, boy,” Si quickly jumped in. “Don’t let them be.”
“Make me the bad guy,” Uncle Si quipped.
HOPPERS, which debuted earlier this year, follows “animal lover” Mabel who “seizes an opportunity to use a new technology to ‘hop’ her consciousness into a life-like robotic beaver and communicate directly with animals.”

“As she uncovers mysteries in the animal world beyond anything she could have imagined, Mabel befriends charismatic beaver King George (voice of Bobby Moynihan) and must rally the entire animal kingdom to face a major, imminent human-threat: smooth-talking local mayor Jerry Generazzo (voice of Jon Hamm),” a synopsis of the movie reads, per Disney.
A part of Movieguide®’s -1 review reads:
Beautifully animated, HOPPERS tells a delightful, wacky, hilarious story with fun twists and turns. Despite some Romantic, environmentalist content, the movie ends up on strong morally uplifting notes. For example, it has some pro-life themes. Also, the humans and animals decide to work together to create a paradise for both worlds. Finally, the story also promotes repentance from evil. However, HOPPERS has some scary moments and creatures. There are some snakes, a friendly but menacing female shark, a large bear, and a chase scene with lots of peril. So, MOVIEGUIDE® advises caution for younger children.
Daniel Chong, HOPPERS’ director and co-writer, revealed that one major apsect of the movie was having an “unpredictable character who was just a little bit chaotic, a little bit unhinged.”
“You love characters who just are willing to jump into the fire and you don’t know what they’re going to do,” he told ScreenRant.
While Si would’ve been a fun addition, DUCK DYNASTY fans did get to see him back on the screen in DUCK DYNASTY: THE REVIVAL. Season 1 debuted in 2025, while the second season arrived earlier this year.
“Is Uncle Si gonna be on the show?” Korie Robertson said ahead of the reboot’s premiere. “Yes, you will see Uncle Si on the show.” She added, “So much has changed. We’ve got a lot to catch people up on.”
While Disney might’ve missed a golden opportunity to cast Uncle Si as HOPPERS’ villain, his fans are glad he stays active on social media and makes podcast appearances.
