What You Need To Know:
The 2026 version of SCARY MOVIE brings hardly anything new or valuable to franchise fans. The movie’s endless jokes, primarily sexual, fall flat. Also, the storyline is weak and leaves no room for the actors to shine. Worst of all, SCARY MOVIE is filled with graphic sex jokes, drugs, nudity, sex toys, and endless obscenities. It also has a few inappropriate jokes about a killer dressed as Santa Claus who gives horrific gifts to children.

More Detail:
In 2000, 26 years ago, a group of friends escaped from a masked killer, but now another masked killer hunts down their younger relatives in the new SCARY MOVIE sequel. The movie is so bad, they didn’t even bother to give it a sequel number. So, the new movie, which is really the sixth “SCARY MOVIE” is just labeled SCARY MOVIE, like the first movie in 2000. In the 2026 version, the legacy cast from the first movie, Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans (“Ray”), Anna Faris, and Regina Hall, reunite in a shallow plot filled with gender, sexual and trans identity jokes, along with drug references, drinking, a child hit by a vehicle, seduction, explicit nudity, sex toys, sex acts, and endless foul language. It’s a 96-minute platform where sex jokes are the movie’s main foundation for generating humor. The number of “f” words seems never-ending. Remove these elements and nothing remains but a weak storyline of a mad killer on the loose.
In the story, two young women are the daughters of Cindy, played by Anna Faris. Cindy reunites with her old three friends after Cindy’s teenage daughter is attacked by a Ghostface killer but survives. Together, the old friends and the two sisters and their friends try to figure out where the killer will strike next. They come to believe that one of them may be the killer.
SCARY MOVIE is filled with recognizable names. However, the storyline is weak and leaves no room for the actors to shine. The cast is just too big. The biggest crime story-wise, though, is that most of the jokes fall flat and have little to no narrative structure. Furthermore, the movie’s production values are average to below average.
SCARY MOVIE is filled with sexual jokes, the wielding of sexual toys, scenes of seduction, and explicit nudity. Also, the killer clown from the TERRIFIER movies, dressed as Santa Clause, gives gruesome human body parts as gifts to children. One little girl receives a gift of testicles. As the movie’s poster warns moviegoers, “Every line will be crossed.” Song titles in the movie include “Hoes,” which is about hoes, the garden implement, and is filled with shaking breasts and booties; “Kiss or Kill,” which is pretty much explanatory; and, “Still Outside,” which is filled with sex and foul language. Finally, a song is played with the name of Jesus repeated in the lyrics.
Why should the name of Jesus be affiliated with this abhorrent movie? Because the SCARY MOVIE franchise is more than just a parody of modern horror movies. It’s a comedy designed for shock value. Hopefully, the franchise’s shock value is wearing thin, but there’s millions of dollars in marketing behind the new SCARY MOVIE. The poster is definitely more funny than the movie. For example, on the poster, a woman in the back holds up a sign saying, “I’m woke so I am broke.” Now, that’s funny.
