What You Need To Know:
THE SHEEP DETECTIVES is a wonderful, delightful, family-friendly movie. It tells a beautiful story with surprising twists and lots of funny, heartwarming and heartbreaking moments. The movie is full of whimsy, laughs and tears. Best of all, THE SHEEP DETECTIVES has many moments pointing, in one way or another, to Jesus. THE SHEEP DETECTIVES has some light violence, but one scene with two scary dogs attacking two sheep and a ram is too scary for young children. So, MOVIEGUIDE® advises caution for younger children.

More Detail:
Hugh Jackman plays George Hardy, an English shepherd in the small village of Denbrook. George loves his sheep and only raises them for their wool. Every day, he feeds them a special blue medicine concoction and every night he reads to them a murder mystery. George pretends they can understand him, and they all listen to him attentively. However, he never suspects that, not only can they understand him, they also argue for hours about whodunnit. The smartest sheep, Lily, who’s also George’s favorite sheep, always figures out whodunnit, but she has an innocent view of the way the world truly works.
When George is found dead under mysterious circumstances, the sheep realize at once that it was murder. Led by Lily, the sheep decide they will have to solve the crime themselves. Especially since the local cop, Tim Derry, seems rather stupid and clueless, and has never solved a serious crime.
At the reading of George’s will, the sheep find out who the prime suspects are. They also uncover some important secrets about their shepherd and his past. The human world isn’t as simple as it appears in books.
