Abe Bueno-Jallad and Noah James talked all things CHOSEN, from plot lines they wished the show had gone into to their feelings about THE CHOSEN’s final season.

“I think that sometimes, my personal taste of a show or art — I differ somewhat sometimes from THE CHOSEN, but I think THE CHOSEN’s always been right in the way they’ve done it,” James, who plays Andrew, told Movieguide®.

Bueno-Jallad, who plays Big James, agreed, pointing to his own differing opinions about THE CHOSEN’s handling of certain plots. For example, he shared that he wanted more of a “spy game, thriller” feel in Season 4, adding, “I’m always looking for the sort of darker aspects.”

“That’s also why it’s important that they run the show,” James interjected. “We know what it feels like on the inside of the scenes, but a lot of the times, the things that we might be pushing for, they’re like, ‘You guys, we have seven seasons. We have to navigate that arc correctly.’ And they’ve done a really good job with it.”

The pair couldn’t say much about Season 7, but Bueno-Jallad did share, “I’m just always wondering how they’re going to activate certain components of [the story] to wrap in things we’ve already built.”

“It’s an unusual thing because the show will be nearing its conclusion for us as human beings and as actors,” James added. “We know that our time is coming to an end, as completely juxtaposed with [our characters] feeling like their time has come to an end, and then having the resurrection and then having the joy…that brings in their lives. So, it’s going to be a really bittersweet season, I think.”

Showrunner Dallas Jenkins has also spoken about Season 7 of THE CHOSEN. In a recent livestream, he told viewers, “The scripts are done, and we’re making some adjustments for budget and for schedule.”

“This is going to be another long season of filming for us. We want to finish strong. We want to land the plane in a very beautiful way,” he continued. “We have the responses to the scripts from the cast and from some of those who’ve been reading them. So far, I’m getting texts of just excitement and tears and joy and beauty and all these things that I think you’re going to see in Season 7.”

As the show comes to an end, THE CHOSEN’s cast have been reflecting on the impact the series has had on fans around the world.

George Xanthis, who portrays John, told the Christian Post, “I remember when we had five fans and a table on some dirt. It’s not lost on me how lucky we are.”

“It gives you an idea of how this show has resonated for so many different people,” he added. “It’s telling a human story. When things are human, they’re in touching distance.”

Fans will certainly miss THE CHOSEN when it’s over, but thankfully they still have Season 6 and 7 to look forward to.
