ChosenCon 2026 was not like any other fan experience, and creator Dallas Jenkins and star Jonathan Roumie explained what sets it apart.

“This is a mutual thank you,” Jenkins told Movieguide®. “This is not a typical fan convention where people show up, and they’re screaming just because they want to see their favorite celebrities. That’s not what this is. You’ll hear some screaming. It’s out of excitement but [also] out of gratitude.

“People want to, through tears, tell us how much the show has changed their lives. We want to, through tears, tell them how much they have changed our lives,” the director continued. “So this is the ultimate mutual thank you. That’s what ChosenCon is about. We need to look them in the eyes and say thank you. We want to give them access behind the scenes. And you’ve seen this from day one. We are pulling back the curtain. We’re not trying to have a distance between you and us. You’re part of this too, and they deserve it that way.”

Roumie sees first hand the way the hit Bible show impacts people around the world.

“It’s been a humbling experience for all of us, just to be able to see how God has used the show to change people’s hearts and minds and to introduce himself to many, many people,” the actor, who plays Jesus, said. “I get messages from atheists frequently that have never been interested in God, and then they started watching the show, and it got them asking questions and examining their lives.”

ChosenCon took place in Charlotte, North Carolina, from Feb. 19-21. The convention included live panels, Q&A Sessions, sneak peeks at upcoming projects and discussions about new seasons.

“Finally recovering from the insanity that was ChosenCon 2026 and wanted to share a few unseen pics!” Roumie posted on Instagram Feb. 26.

“Any time spent with the best extended (Chosen) cast/crew-family in the world is one which nourishes my soul. If only we had more such time my sweet ones…,” he continued. “
Not only did I get to hang and chat with some dear old friends, but I made some new ones as well!”

“I hope you enjoyed hearing about the joys and pains of making seasons 5 & 6 as much as we loved telling you about them. It was a privilege to share some of the most deeply personal and impactful moments I’ve ever had making movies,” Roumie added.

The actor then took a moment to personally thank the fans.

“I’m gonna just say it…this show wouldn’t be what it is without YOU! THE FANNNSSSS!!! Thank you so much for your prayers, your resources, support and love of THE CHOSEN. And especially for spending your weekend with me this ‘Con,” he said.

With a cast and crew who care so much about their fans, its no surprise THE CHOSEN continues to find success.

THE CHOSEN Season 6 will premiere on Prime Video this fall, though the season finale will arrive in theaters Spring 2027.
