Feeling stuck? Kirk Cameron has some advice.

“Do you want people to do something for you that only God can do? Or, on the flip side, are you sitting around waiting on God to do something that He already told you to do?” the actor asked in a recent episode of “The Kirk Cameron Show.” “Because if you get those two things mixed up, you’re in a world of hurt.”

He continued, “You can’t wait vertically for what God has called you to do horizontally. We’re talking about the difference between what God can give us and what people can give us.”

Cameron explained that many people get caught in the trap of thinking their lives would be better if their spouse was more understanding, or if their child was more respectful. However, thinking like this is asking another person to “fix problems that only God can fix.”

“Nothing on earth is ever going to be your savior,” he said. “People will never give you those things.”

Cameron added, “We also get it wrong the other way, too,” pointing out that many Christians get stuck waiting on God to fix relationship problems or provide success.

“Faith is not just waiting on God. Faith is moving because we trust that God will provide,” he said.

Cameron frequently shares his thoughts on faith, encouraging his audience to reframe the way they approach challenges. In another recent episode of “The Kirk Cameron Show,” he asked viewers, “What if the worst thing that’s happening to you right now is actually part of God’s plan for your good?”

“What is the specific circumstance that is causing you trouble in your life? What is the thing that is causing you dread and fear [of] the future?” he continued. “Ask yourself this: can I adopt the attitude of Jesus? Remember, God is never wasting your suffering.”

Cameron is also hard at work on a new movie!

“I’m on set in Los Angeles, filming a new Christmas movie that echoes the sentiments of IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE and FIELD OF DREAMS,” he captioned an Instagram post. “I play the role of a cutthroat Hollywood agent who is exasperated with temperamental actors!”

“The coolest part about being a part of this production is that it is being made by the film department and students of The Masters University,” he added.

Cameron’s thoughts on feeling stuck are a good way to think about the challenges in your life and how you can overcome them through faith.
