TOY STORY 5 is killing it at the box office, and we knew it would.

It came out on June 19 and had the best Tuesday of 2026 with $23.7 million. It recently crossed the $200M domestic mark, Deadline reported on June 24. The previous best Tuesday YTD was THE SUPER MARIO GALAXY MOVIE at $14.7M. TOY STORY 5 brought in $17.3M on Monday.

The movie that came in second place on Tuesday was the horror movie OBSESSION with $2.7M, proving yet again that moral family movies always win at the box office.

TOY STORY 5 opened to $312M worldwide in its opening weekend, The Walt Disney Company reported. It has the second-largest animated debut of all time domestically after THE INCREDIBLES 2, and it’s still going strong. It had the best domestic opening YTD with $159.6m, beating its $150M opening projection.

The movie was also projected to be the biggest opening ever for the franchise, and it is. In a recent Fandango survey, 5,000 voters said their most anticipated movie of the summer is TOY STORY 5. It ranked above SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY and THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA 2.

“People have such a deep emotional connection to TOY STORY, and this new chapter explores how the toys navigate a modern world filled with technology and changing childhood habits. Classic Pixar heart,” Fandango correspondent Erik Davis said.

TOY STORY 5 currently has a 95% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes and a 93% critics score. It turns out everyone still loves good ole Woody, Buzz and the gang.

When Tim Allen did voice work for TOY STORY 5, some of the Pixar crew thought his voice sounded different, which sent him into a panic.

“We did the first session, and everybody said, in a nice way, ‘Buzz is starting to sound a little old!’ Because I panicked after that, I couldn’t get my voice to register, and it was gravely,” Allen recalled.

However, the staff helped him get good Buzz’s voice back with help from an opera coach.

“She got with me she said, ‘Your voice doesn’t get old, but at your age you gotta warm up…’ I never warmed up,” he admitted. It was weird because I said, ‘You’re going to get somebody else to do this aren’t you?’”

“They said no, and the voice came back. It was a real challenge, and because of that I took care of my voice,” he said.

In the new movie, Allen actually voices about 50 Buzzes in one scene. If you haven’t seen it yet, it will still be in theaters for several more weeks.
