AVENGERS: ENDGAME returns to theaters this fall but with a twist.
From Disney and Marvel Studios — and under the new title AVENGERS: ENDGAME ENCORE — the rerelease comes as part of Disney’s recently launched “Infinity Vision,” a certification that signifies “which auditoriums offer the biggest, brightest and most immersive cinematic experiences.”
The rerelease is slated for Sept. 25, 2026, just months before AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY debuts on Dec. 18, 2026.
Unlike a standard re-release, this version of ENDGAME will feature additional footage, a custom introduction and an expanded presentation. Theaters must meet certain requirements to be a part of the Infinity Vision branding, including a minimum of 45’ wide screens, a high-quality immersive sound system and brightness level requirements.
“As interest in enhanced theater amenities continues to grow, there is a meaningful opportunity for our collective industry to simplify how we communicate and promote the range of premium large format (PLF) experiences that are available to consumers,” said Cinemark CEO Sean Gamble.
He added, “We commend Disney for taking an important first step toward advancing this objective and look forward to collaborating with them and our broader industry partners to align on a unifying PLF brand and set of standards.”

Michael O’Leary of Cinema United said, “We compliment Disney’s leadership in promoting the great myriad of theatrical experiences available to movie fans today. We need to ensure that audiences everywhere are aware of the many options available to them in their local theaters.”
“It’s been a long time coming,” noted Eduardo Acuna, CEO & Director of Regal Cineworld Group, “and we love that Disney is taking the lead in pointing moviegoers to the best theaters out there. Having a single identifiable brand will help audiences trust that from the moment they step through the doors they are going to have a spectacular cinematic experience.”
Theaters must apply to have their screens verified to be a part of the event, and so far over 7,500 applications have been turned in.
Movieguide® gave 2019’s ENDGAME a -2 content score with a four-star entertainment quality rating.
“AVENGERS: ENDGAME has one unified plot with many characters and themes merging into it,” the review reads. “That said, some plot points are unresolved and some storylines are left hanging. At one point, this problem becomes a little tedious and even confusing.”
The review advises caution due to “lots of foul language, frequent intense violence, and some other edgy, immoral content that’s also harmful to children.”
“On the positive side, however, the movie contains an emotionally powerful, morally uplifting main plot that extols family and fatherhood,” it adds. “MOVIEGUIDE® advises extreme caution for AVENGERS: ENDGAME.”
It looks like 2026 is the year for AVENGERS fans.
