Oklahoma was crowned the 2026 NCAA Men’s College World Series Champions on Monday night for the third time in program history.

The Sooners beat North Carolina 13-2 for a winner-take-all Game 3.

Two Sooners stars played above and beyond on Monday night to help seal the win. Shortstop Jaxon Willits went 3-4 at the plate to secure two RBIs and was given the Most Outstanding Player award after the win. Infielder Kyle Branch also went 3-4 and had one home run, as well as a career high six RBIs

The two spoke to the media after the game where they gave all the credit to God.

“I mean, first off, I got to give all glory to God and give thanks to that, but I mean, we were just confident in ourselves, we knew what we had done all year long and what we’d in the post season, and we just took it one pitch at a time,” Willits told ESPN, according to CBN Sports.

“Pure joy, pure joy for our team. I had a teammate, Uriah Walters. He told me earlier today that I was going to do something special, and for him to tell me something like that with the way things have been going, it had to be a God thing, and so we have to give glory to Him in all of our things,” Branch added when asked what it felt like to hit a home run in his final at bat.

For Oklahoma to get to the Men’s College World Series, they had to face Georgia, where Branch’s brother, Kolby plays. In Kolby’s final at bat for Georgia, he also hit a home run. Branch couldn’t help but smile as he watched the ball soar overhead and out of the park.

He felt blessed to face off against his brother in the MCWS.

“It’s not something every family gets to do, especially not for brothers, to be on the same stage in Omaha. It’s just a beautiful thing,” Branch said before the Sooners faced the Bulldogs.

The Game 3 win was driven by stellar individual performances from Willits and Branch. As the confetti settles in Omaha, the Sooners head back to Norman not just as athletes who conquered the postseason pressure, but as a tight-knit brotherhood celebrating a historic third national championship.
