Netflix has set a premiere date for Leanne Morgan’s multi-camera comedy, LEANNE Season 2.

The show will return to Netflix on Aug. 27 and will star Tyne Daly, who is related to Tim Daly, who plays Andrew on the show. But that’s not all. Lainey Wilson, Jaime Pressley and Billy Gardel will also guest star, Deadline reported on June 24.

Regular cast members Celia Weston, Blake Clark, Ryan Stiles, Jayma Mays, Graham Rogers, Hannah Pilkes and Andrea Anders will return to the series.

Last year, LEANNE Season 1 had a two-week spot in Netflix’s global top 10 show rankings, The Hollywood Reporter said.

The synopsis for the show reads, “The synopsis: “Leanne’s (Leanne Morgan) world is turned upside down when her husband of 33 years unexpectedly leaves her for another woman. Supported by her family, including her ride-or-die sister Carol (Kristen Johnston), Leanne learns to embrace the chaos and finds strength, laughter and hope in the most unexpected places.”

The same co-creators will return: Chuck Lorre, Morgan and Susan McMartin, with Lorre, Morgan, Nick Bakay and Judi Marmel as executive producers. The studio is Chuck Lorre Productions, Inc. in association with Warner Bros. Television.

The second season was filmed in January 2026 in front of a live audience. The number of episodes hasn’t been confirmed, but it’s likely there will be 16, like the first season, Netflix Life reported.

Morgan has several Netflix comedy specials and will release another Netflix special in 2027. Earlier this year, she performed with Jerry Seinfeld at the Netflix is a Joke Fest.

Before she debuted her show, Seinfeld gave her some tips.

“We talked for two hours. He loves talking about comedy,” she recalled. “He through my Netflix special and my bits and how I wrote them. And we talked about the sitcom.”

“He gave me a lot of advice, you know, just because it is my name on it. I have got Chuck Lorre and Susan McMartin, these wonderful people. He said, ‘Remember, Leanne, you know what’s funny. You can go in front of 2,000 people a night for an hour and make people laugh, so you can do this,’” she said.

When Morgan’s show came out she said, “I’m a mama from Knoxville, Tennessee, and this happening for me, it’s a miracle and a blessing. And honey, I still don’t believe it.”

She’s happy that she rose to stardom in her 50s and not earlier in her life.

“I look back on it and I think, it was wonderful timing,” she said.

“I got to raise these children. I have led a full life as a mama, a grandmama, my parents are still with me,” she added. “I’ve got this full life I can talk about, and that’s what people are relating to.”

Today, she embarks on her “The Time of Our Lives Tour,” which will run in the US until mid-December. Many of the shows are already sold out.
