Terry Crews to Host Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular on NBC

Terry Crews will host Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular on NBC this year.

“Now THIS is my kind of party!” Crews shared on his Instagram on June 24. “I’m thrilled to be hosting the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular on NBC! Fireworks, music, energy and millions of people coming together to celebrate — it doesn’t get much more iconic than this!”

He said the event will be “legendary,” and since America celebrates 250 years in July, it surely will be.

“I’m honored to be a part of it and I cannot wait for you to see what we have in store!” Let’s celebrate BIG. 🇺🇸💥” the AMERICA’S GOT TALENT host said.

Macy’s Instagram account commented, “The perfect host for an iconic night! ✨❤️#MacysFireworks,”

Crews’ wife, Rebecca Crews, also commented with some fire emojis.

This year will be Macy’s largest celebration ever. And it’s projected to be the biggest and grandest 4th of July celebration that America has ever seen.

We’re proud to honor our 50th anniversary with an expanded show, never-before-seen effects and music’s biggest stars for a truly unforgettable celebration,” said Will Coss, Macy’s 4th of July executive producer.

The show will be filmed live from the Brooklyn Bridge, The Hudson River and the East River on July 4 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock, Macy’s said. The event will last two hours.

The event requires eight miles of wires and cables, 12 high tech pyro animations and will feature over 85,000 shells in over 30 different colors of fireworks. Macy has hired 75 pyro technicians, and there will be 240 firework launch locations.

It will also introduce a new laser show from the Brooklyn Bridge.

The estimated cost for fireworks alone last year was $6 million, per style caster. This is Macy’s 50th year doing the annual event, which is sponsored by Planters and Bulova this year.

THE VOICE winner Alexia Jayy, Noah Kahan, Post Malone, Bebe Rexha, Salt-N-Pepa, Shaboozey and Blake Shelton will all perform at the event, and it’s possible more stars may be announced leading up to July 4.

New York will also host a Sail4th 250 event that will feature international ships, naval vessels, waterfront programs and public ship tours, Stupid Dope reported. There will also be fireworks dinner cruises and other ways to enjoy the celebration along New York’s waterways.
