The band CAIN, a Christian music family trio, knows what it’s like to rely on God in the midst of chaos.

In an interview on Annie F. Downs’ podcast, band member Logan Cain shared how their new song “I Made It” came from a difficult season.

“This song was writing about the promised land from the middle of the river, where I am in the midst of chaos and disorder,” he explained. “And I’m having to sing in faith that I will make it because of who Jesus is. I believe that He is who He says He is.”

The song celebrates Cain and his wife Emily’s new baby after enduring a devastating miscarriage.

“In that moment, it didn’t even feel like He had me by the hand, leading me,” he explained of the difficult time. “I kind of felt like I am going to be here for however long and I have to decide to sing in faith about who I know God to be long before I have present proof.”

Psalms 69:29-30 says, “But as for me, afflicted and in pain — may your salvation, God, protect me. I will praise God’s name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving.” Cain embodied this as he praised God despite his circumstances.

Cain encouraged listeners, “If you’re listening to this and you are in the middle, or you’re you feel like you’re on the other side, but you’re still sort of waiting for confirmation, like the reason that we are singing this song and wrote this song is because it is the rudder of your ship. And to sing and declare that I made it, you won’t always really understand what the finish line is going to look like.”

He added, “God really has been so kind…What I was praying for in the middle of that chaos was peace. And what I got was joy. And the sensation of the joy of the Lord being my strength felt like a like a calm, still quietness.”

Cain recently took to Instagram to celebrate what a great wife and mother Emily is.

“@emilydelphia appreciation post. The most beautiful and strongest girl I know. My best friend,” he began. “You’re such a great mom and you lead our family with such character and intention. You care deeply about the details. You’re a sharp savvy businesswoman. You’re just awesome. And you’re super pregnant and don’t complain at all – so anyway I love you and so does everyone – just read the comments. (Everyone say something nice about Emily in the comments NOW)”

People in the comment section celebrated her as well.

“She overflows with contentment and lightness! It’s easy to watch her and smile with her posts and the way that she lives life with gratitude! She’s a testimony of the grace of God! ❤️” one person said.

Another person added, “The best momma ever! Emily is a rockstar.”

Cain’s testimony and new song is a reminder that even when times are difficult, God will always see us through.
