YouTuber Nick Nayersina points to his mom’s prayers as the reason why he has God in his life.
“My mom is the person who’s put God in my whole life to this day. Even when I fall short of not going to church, she’s still checking in, wants to read me a verse,” Nayersina told podcaster George Janko.
Janko chimed in, “Like I promise you, I’m not just saying this to say this. When I see you, when I’m with you, and I hope your mom’s watching…your prayers show in his character. Your prayers is the reason why these delinquents that we hang out with, and that our friends don’t rub off on us, is because our moms are on their knees, begging Jesus, ‘Please God, don’t let him turn out like this or behave like this.’”
Janko recalled a sweet reminder that his mother used to give him: “My mom used to say this, ‘I never sent you alone. I send you with Jesus,’ and I know your mom feels that same.”
Nayersina added, “She prays about everything for me, tells me all the time, like, sometimes we’ll do a prayer, like it’s easy to like get lost and everything.”
“It’s easy to become your own god,” Janko responded.

People in the comment section appreciated the reminder of the power of prayer.
“The effectual fervent prayers of a righteous man (and mama) avail much. 😂” one person said. Another added, “Thank you from a mom for this encouragement! Needed to hear it!”
Nayersina uses his platform to encourage his followers.
“Anything is possible. Chase your dreams. This is just the beginning,” he posted last year. “The biggest year starts now…Just wanted to take today to say I’m very thankful for my family, my community, all the supporters, for God, and thankful to be alive with good people around me. If you’re going through something, talk about it, keep going, the light is at the end of the tunnel❤️”
Janko often uplifts his followers in their faith.
“Don’t forget to pray for your enemies,” he encouraged last year. “They’re just another one of God’s kids — lost, hurting and in need of love and grace.”
James 5:16 tells us, “The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.” Even when we don’t see it, our prayers are working behind the scenes.
