Hallmark Drafts This NFL Team for Next Christmas Romance

Hallmark drafted the Chicago Bears for their next NFL-inspired Christmas flick.

Hallmark Media, NFL and Skydance Sport announced the movie, titled HOLIDAY TOUCHDOWN: A BEARS LOVE STORY, on Thursday.

“After the tremendous success of our first two HOLIDAY TOUCHDOWN movies, we knew we wanted to continue the tradition by partnering with another iconic NFL franchise and fan base. The Chicago Bears have a rich history, passionate supporters, and a culture that extends far beyond the football field, making them a perfect fit for a heartwarming holiday story,” Darren Abbott, President and Chief Brand Officer, Hallmark Media, said in a press release from the Chicago Bears. “We can’t wait for audiences to experience this story and celebrate the passion and spirit that bring Bears fans together.”

HOLIDAY TOUCHDOWN: A CHIEFS LOVE STORY debuted in 2025, followed by HOLIDAY TOUCHDOWN: A BILLS LOVE STORY in 2025.

“Skydance Sports was built on the idea that the best sports stories live as much with the fans as with the athletes,” Jessica Matthews, SVP of Film and TV at Skydance Sports, added. “Few fan bases carry their team’s history the way Chicago carries the Bears, a devotion that has been passed down from generation to generation. It’s a privilege to once again partner with Hallmark Media and the NFL on another exciting holiday film.”

Production will begin this summer and will film around locations in Chicago as the players and coaches are still in summer workouts to prepare for the fall season. The movie will showcase “iconic locations, beloved traditions and the passion that surrounds one of the NFL’s most storied franchises,” the Bears reported.

Movieguide® gave HOLIDAY TOUCHDOWN: A CHIEFS LOVE STORY a +1 content score, calling it a “sweet Christmas romance.”

“HOLIDAY TOUCHDOWN stresses the importance of family, Christmas and coming together as a community,” the review reads. “However, much of the movie centers on the grandfather’s lucky hat. Also, Alana often expresses her belief in luck and fate. That said, she eventually tells football fans, ‘The hat, just like Christmas, is about faith, love and coming together as a family.’ HOLIDAY TOUCHDOWN also has some pro-capitalist elements. MOVIEGUIDE® advises caution for younger older children.”

This new partnership promises to deliver a heartwarming, Chicago-centered romance that builds on the success of Hallmark’s previous NFL collaborations. A release date hasn’t been announced yet.
