HOLIDAY TOUCHDOWN: A CHIEFS LOVE STORY is a Christmas romance on the Hallmark Channel. Alana is a lifelong Kansas City Chiefs fan. Her parents even own a Chiefs merchandise store. She’s working to get her family named as Fan of the Year. Alana starts a romance with Derrick, the fan engagement director for the Chiefs. However, Derrick doesn’t believe in luck. Also, Alana starts to doubt their relationship when they lose her grandfather’s “lucky” Chiefs hat.

HOLIDAY TOUCHDOWN: A CHIEFS LOVE STORY is a sweet Christmas romance. Lead actors Hunter King and Tyler Hynes have great chemistry. Ed Begley, Jr. gives a wonderful performance as Alana’s grandfather. HOLIDAY TOUCHDOWN stresses the importance of family, Christmas and coming together as a community. However, much of the movie centers on the grandfather’s lucky hat. Also, Alana often expresses her belief in luck and fate. That said, she eventually tells football fans, “The hat, just like Christmas, is about faith, love and coming together as a family.” HOLIDAY TOUCHDOWN also has some pro-capitalist elements. Mixed pagan worldview, with a plotline that focuses on a family’s lucky hat and lead female character repeatedly talks about the importance of luck and fate, but movie has strong moral themes with a strong emphasis on the importance of family and love, as well as being together as a community, whether that’s sports fans or being citizens of the same town, and there are many scenes that share the characters’ love of Christmas and its traditions, and female lead eventually tells fans, “The hat, just like Christmas, is about faith, love and coming together as a family,” plus strong pro-capitalist content where parents own a football team merchandise store and grandparents own a barbecue restaurant;

HOLIDAY TOUCHDOWN: A CHIEFS LOVE STORY is a romance on the Hallmark Channel. It tells the story of Alana and Derrick, two people brought together by their love of the Kansas City Chiefs, and the magic of Christmas.

Alana’s family loves the Chiefs. Her four grandparents happened to buy season tickets for seats next to each other, and the families grew close. Her parents, who met as children, eventually got married, and the family loves celebrating their favorite football team, – and Christmas –together. They also own a Chiefs merchandise store. This year, Alana has put them up for the team’s Fan of the Year award.

Meanwhile, Derrick, the head of fan engagement for the Chiefs, is still adjusting to his new city. He checks out a barbeque place, which happens to belong to Alana’s grandparents and meets the whole family. He and Alana hit it off, but he doesn’t mention that he works for the Chiefs. Things get tense, however, when the family shares the story of the grandfather’s lucky Chiefs hat. The story goes that, if a family member wears the grandfather’s hat on Christmas, the team will go to the Super Bowl. However, Derrick doesn’t believe in lucky traditions.

Derrick is assigned to check out Alana’s family for the Fan of the Year award. Alana is initially upset because Derrick didn’t tell her he worked for the team. Also, he still doesn’t believe in the lucky hat. However, she soon forgives him and the two get closer because Derrick does everything he can to help Alana’s family win the Fan of the Year award.

After a romantic outing to Arrowhead Stadium, Derrick and Alana start a relationship. Derek quickly becomes part of the family’s Christmas traditions. A few days later, it’s revealed that the family won the Fan of the Year award.

Alana and Derrick are volunteering at a toy drive put on by the Chiefs when the lucky hat disappears. Alana is heartbroken, but her family assures her it’s okay. However, she starts to doubt her relationship with Derrick. She believes it was the hat’s magic that brought them together. Without the hat, does that mean their relationship wasn’t meant to be?

HOLIDAY TOUCHDOWN: A CHIEFS LOVE STORY is an entertaining movie that football fans, especially fans of the Kansas City Chiefs, will especially love. Lead actors Hunter King and Tyler Hynes have great chemistry, and Ed Begley Jr. gives a wonderful performance as Alana’s grandfather.
