San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy and his wife, Jenna, just welcomed their first child — a baby girl — into the world.
“Life just became a whole lot sweeter,” the couple wrote in a joint Instagram post accompanied by a photo of the new family. Millie Joleen Purdy arrived on Tuesday, July 28.
The couple did not publicly announced they were expecting a child, but they have been very public about their love for one another.
According to Sports Spectrum, they met at Iowa State University. Jenna played volleyball, while Brock starred as a quarterback. He was the last overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft and proposed to Jenna during the following offseason.
“My Jenna girl forever. I can’t wait to be your husband and grow together in Christ. Here’s to forever, babe. I love you, JB!” Brock wrote in a post after he proposed.
“WE GET TO DO LIFE TOGETHER…FOREVER! Brock Purdy – I love everything about you & your heart for Jesus more than any words can say,” Jenna celebrated at the time.
Faith is always first for Purdy, as he’s constantly shared about Christ throughout his NFL career.
“Right now I’m all about living set apart from the world,” he said a few years ago. “People can think this about me or whatever, the bottom line for me is that my identity is in Jesus.”
He continues to find his worth in Christ.
“It was a crazy year with how our team did and what we went through and what I went through personally, but I wanted to stay anchored and rooted in His promises,” Purdy told Sports Spectrum earlier this year. “That’s what He’s promised us. Like, I’ve given my life to Jesus. My old life — my passions, desires of wanting this or that, especially in the football world as a quarterback and thinking about the future — that’s been crucified with Christ and what He did for me and with me on the cross. Now I have this freedom to go and live changed and free through Jesus.”
In 2023, he emphasized, “For me it’s, ‘No, God has me where He needs me,’ and, ‘How can I look around and be thankful for where He has me and just have that steadfastness and peace and love, obviously that He provides, and stay in that?’”
The Purdys will continue to keep faith first as the raise little Millie.
