As fans worldwide mourn the death of WWE star Hulk Hogan, they can also celebrate knowing that his faith in God transformed his life.
“I was sick and tired of myself,” Hogan said in a video TBN shared “I mean, just the two people in here, my real self and the ego,” he said as he pointed to his head, “and I decided to turn back to my faith.”
He decided to emblazon the faith and hope he had in Christ through a tattoo.
“One of the things that I did was I put that crazy tattoo on my back — ‘immortal’ — meaning I accepted Christ as my Savior, and He died for my sins, and I’ll live forever.”
Although the tattoo had a deep, spiritual meaning for Hogan, some people thought he did it to boast about his wrestling career.
“So many people think, ‘Oh, it’s the immortal Hulk Hogan, the ego trip…’ No, it was for that reason [his relationship with God] that I did that.”
After giving his life to Jesus, sharing the gospel with others became the most important thing to him.
“[What’s] going to be important to me moving forward is being the vessel to spread this message, because it’s the only truth there is,” he explained. “Everything else is just temporary. Everything — fame, the money, the ego, the physical — everything is just temporary.”
The Bible emphasizes this in James 4:14: “Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. For you are just a vapor that appears for a little while, and then vanishes away.”
Hogan added, “And once you get that, and you realize that it’s so important that you make other people understand that that’s the only truth there is. So, moving forward, that’s the first foremost thought of my mind, is to being a messenger for my Lord and savior.”
Hogan died on July 24 after a sudden cardiac arrest.

“Hulk loved his fans so much and despite his growing physical discomfort, he did everything he could to show up, sign autographs, take photos, and connect with the people who supported him through it all. You meant everything to him,” his wife, Sky Daily, posted on Instagram after his death.
“He was a believer in Christ, and I take comfort knowing his soul is at peace and he’s been welcomed home,” she added.
In a statement after his death, his family added, “May we all take solace in the wonderful memories he left behind for the millions of fans worldwide whose lives he touched for more than four decades.”
Although many are saddened by the death of such a legend, it is comforting knowing he’s finally experiencing the “immortal” life he anticipated after giving his life to God.
