More Detail:
The first episode of the three-part series, JACK CARR INVESTIGATES: CARLOS THE JACKAL, a documentary streaming on FOX Nation, covers the early days of the man who brought terrorism into the modern age. Jack Carr, an ex-Navy SEAL and host of the show, dives into Carlos’s backstory and explores what made him one of the most notorious international killers to ever live.
In 2020, during Covid, France allowed prisoners to use phones. A Jewish journalist took advantage of this opportunity and called Carlos. They spoke for twelve hours, revealing valuable insights into Carlos’s perspective on his life. Carlos’s upbringing shaped his worldview, as he only viewed communism as a viable ideology. His father, a devout communist, taught him and his siblings the ideals and functions of the party. Carlos quickly became the most respected and feared boy in his school.
When Carlos’s radicalism led to trouble with the Venezuelan government, his father sent him to London. After a brief stay, his father moved him to Moscow to attend a Soviet school. There, Carlos grew even more determined to wreak havoc on the world.
After Moscow, he traveled to Beirut, Lebanon, the hub of the PFLP (Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine). He joined the party and received training as a terrorist. The PFLP recognized Carlos’s potential and soon dispatched him to Western Europe to launch his campaign of terror. His first target, Joseph Sieff, a British businessman and strong supporter of Israel, became a focal point when Carlos attempted to assassinate him. However, his gun jammed, forcing him to flee.
After several failed attacks, Carlos decided to execute a major operation. He met and strategized with other terrorists, planning an attack that would elevate him from a mere terrorist to the father of modern terrorism, known and feared worldwide.
JACK CARR INVESTIGATES: CARLOS THE JACKAL: Episode 1.1, presents a well-crafted documentary that captures Carlos’s early years and motivations. The narrative chronicles every season of his life, highlighting his transformation from an inexperienced radical boy to a cunning and calculated mass murderer. Throughout the episode, viewers hear audio from the dialogue between the journalist and Carlos, seamlessly integrating it into the scenes.
