Paramount+ and the Texas Tech Raiders football team have officially partnered to create a docuseries which will chronicle one of the toughest off-seasons in the history of college football.

The docuseries will be directed by Micah Brown and produced by Skydance Sports. The four-episode, currently untitled series has been in production since January and is expected to release just before the college football season begins this year.

“Texas Tech football has one of the most passionate fan bases in college sports, and this docuseries will give them an unprecedented look at what it takes to build an elite program,” Jane Wiseman, EVP & Head of Originals for Paramount+, said in a press release. “This series is exactly the kind of premium scripted and unscripted sports storytelling our subscribers love, and it will join the massive collection of world-class sports content on Paramount+.”

“This has proven to be a landscape-altering offseason and we’ve been lucky to have a front row seat,” Greg Groggel, SVP Unscripted, Skydance Sports, added. “This series will present fans and viewers with an unprecedented window into everything that is defining college football today.”

“This documentary will give the Red Raider Nation an inside look at everything that makes Texas Tech Athletics special, the people, the passion, and the relentless pursuit of excellence that defines this program every day,” Kirby Hocutt, Director of Athletics at Texas Tech University, said. “We are incredibly proud that Paramount+ selected Texas Tech for a groundbreaking documentary with rare access.”

“Set in the intense world of college football, the docuseries follows the Texas Tech Red Raiders as Head Coach Joey McGuire builds a new team identity during a demanding offseason, ” Deadline reported. “Production began before transferring senior quarterback Brendan Sorsby lost a legal battle and was ruled ineligible after he checked himself into rehab for a gambling addiction in late April. He had placed tens of thousands of dollars in bets on games during his four-year NCAA playing career, including dozens of his own team’s games while at Indiana University.”

As the landscape of college football continues to shift with new transfer portal rules and NIL deals, this docuseries arrives at a perfect time. By capturing the raw, behind-the-scenes reality of Coach McGuire’s program, Paramount+ isn’t just delivering a treat for the Red Raider faithful — it’s providing a blueprint of what modern college football looks like. When the four-episode series drops this August, fans nationwide will finally see whether the grueling offseason groundwork translates into a championship run.
