Millie Bobby Brown just became a mom to her adopted daughter last year and recently filmed her new movie, ENOLA HOLMES 3. It’s a balancing act to get it all done.
“And I’m like, hold on. It’s all about managing your time better. And I give a lot of energy to my work, my company, my family, travel,” the actress told London Business Journal of balancing her career and motherhood. “But there are certain things that I’m just like, ‘Cut it out. It’s no more.’”
Now, she only has time for things that she knows will bring her positive energy.
“I’ve just been slowly trying to weed out the things that make me really happy and the things that don’t. And I can only hope that everyone else does the same,” Brown said.
One of the things she always makes time for is her daughter. She calls parenting her almost one-year-old “amazing.”
Brown never knew what it was like to have so many emotions at once until she became a mom.
“I love, and then I’m crying because I don’t want her to grow up, but then I want her to grow up, and there are so many emotions of being a mom, and that definitely makes me feel very alive,” she said.

“It’s just the best joy ever, and yeah, I was just so lucky. She is hilarious. I think she’s becoming more and more like me every day,” she said on the TODAY show.
Brown shares her adopted daughter with husband Jake Bon Jovi. She’s spoiled rotten by her grandparents, Jon and Dorothea Bon Jovi.
“They just had her the other day for the whole day, and they went to Target and got like a cart full of things for her and me and, you know, and he’s just always on the floor crawling around with her and dying laughing, videoing every new thing she does,” Brown said of Jon. “He’s the best, and so is Dorothea, my amazing mother-in-law. Like they are just the most present grandparents, and we couldn’t be luckier to have, you know, them in her life.”
Her new movie, ENOLA HOLMES 3, comes out on Netflix on July 1.
“I’ve been really lucky within my career so far,” she said on TODAY. “I’ve been able to stay with a character for maybe longer than expected…It’s so exciting, especially because I started this when I was 15, to be able to have her grow with me.”
As a 22-year-old now, she feels like she’s brought more maturity to the character.
“I’m 22. I feel like now I’m just bringing different elements of maturity and wisdom to her, but still she’s deeply flawed, which is what I want girls to be able to see, and she can be everyone’s hero,” Brown said.
“It’s so nice to be able to do it at my home studio and for them to still have faith in the brand and the franchise,” she said of working with Netflix. “I feel like we have an audience for it. And I always love seeing what the reviews are for the screeners before the film actually comes out.”
ENOLA HOLMES 2 has a -2 rating from Movieguide®.
Part of the review reads, “ENOLA HOLMES is a spirited tale full of exciting adventure, fine acting, and vibrant music. However, it has a strong Romantic, politically correct feminist worldview. The movie teaches that the title character’s future is all up to her, that our lives are our own, and that we can find out who we are as a person without our family.”
