SPIDER-MAN star Tom Holland recently hinted that some fans have already correctly guessed the plot of his upcoming movie, SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY.

“Some of the wildest fan theories are like weirdly accurate to what is happening in the movie,” Holland told Vanity Fair France. “I feel like I don’t want to give any fuel to the flames before the movie comes out.”

Of course, he was asked to say which theories are correct.

“I can’t. My lips are sealed,” he said.

His wife, Zendaya, who plays MJ in the movies, said, “What Tom and I enjoy is looking at people’s fan theories and thinking some are spot on, some are really far off and some have really great ideas. I’m not sure I can think of any off the top of my head but people are very creative. ”

Total Film reported the biggest questions fans have are what character STRANGER THINGS’ Sadie Sink is playing and who the movie’s villain is. The only hint Holland gave is that the villain is unlike any that fans have seen yet.

The movie’s synopsis reads, “It’s a BRAND NEW DAY for Peter Parker. Fighting crime full-time as Spider-Man in a world that doesn’t remember him — and the pressure of seeing his old friends move on without him — sparks a change in Peter he may not have the power to control. But that transformation might also be the only thing that can stop a shocking new threat to the city and those he loves — a powerful villain no one can even see.”

Holland said, “This movie is a real mystery. And for a large portion of the film even Spider-Man is a little bit at odds and lost and is like, ‘What is going on?’ We’re just trying to find ways to make this movie feel like a detective movie.”

The first trailer for the movie broke records as the largest trailer in the world ever with one billion views in four days, and it’s second trailer became the second largest with 590.8m views in its first week,” Deadline reported.

The advance ticket sales — which are upwards of $40m — are the biggest they’ve been in five years since SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME came out.

Along with Holland, Zendaya and Sink, the movie also stars Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando and Mark Ruffalo. It’s directed by Destin Daniel Cretton.

Recently at CineEurope 2026, Sony gave fans a treat by screening the first 18 minutes of BRAND NEW DAY and RESIDENT EVIL, BAM! SMACK! POW! reported.

The movie will come out in theaters on July 31.
