Alexa PenaVega and her children are “living such a wild life,” and the actress wouldn’t have it any other way.
“We’re very outdoor people,” she recently told Us Weekly. “My kids were raised on the island [in Hawaii] for a long time, and then on a boat, and now we’re on a farm in Tennessee, so we’re very outdoorsy.”
The actress continued, “But if you think about it, they’re living such a wild life. They go from living on a tour bus and traveling and touring and being on movie sets, so when we’re home, I want it to be the polar opposite of that, and this is what we live in. They experience this, they’re riding their little motocross bikes in the backyard and pet chickens, and hopefully we’re getting a cow soon — just fun life stuff.”

Alexa and her husband Carlos have previously spoken about their decision to move their family to Nashville.
“The community here has been unreal,” Alexa said in a 2025 episode of Shawn Johnson East and husband Andrew East’s podcast.
Carlos added, “One day, we were praying, and it felt like God was calling us to come check out Tennessee. We just go when God calls us, like, fast.”
In an Instagram post from the time, the couple wrote, “2 days before New Year’s Eve we both (separately) felt God calling us to take a trip to Tennessee. Had no idea why. It was 8 o’clock at night and we decided to take a leap of faith.”
The couple had just finished renovating a sailboat that the family was living on but couldn’t deny their feeling that they should try living in Nashville.
“We were still so determined to take our adventure, but yet now we felt such a strange pull to move inland to Tennessee. Well.. here we are, two months later. The boat is about to be listed for sale and we are in a house, with no furniture and honestly no real idea why God has us here,” their post continued. “I am so grateful with Gods timing on getting us off the boat and into a home. To be honest, He pulled us out of our comfort zone and now more than ever we have to trust and rely on him with everything….BUT, even in the confusion and with so many questions… we cannot wait for this new season with our growing familia.”
The PenaVegas might have had a different kind of adventure planned, but it looks like their life in Tennessee is just as exciting.
