The Babylon Bee’s skit star Jarrett LeMaster has some advice for dads.
“It’s short. The period of life where you have your kids in the house is so short,” he explained on Movieguide®’s “We Who Dad” podcast. “So, don’t waste the time.”
“You know what I mean? Like, really really capitalize on your time. Every single one of you should homeschool,” the father of four joked.
He believes parents never regret time they spend with their children.
“That’s what I think. But, like honestly, like spend as much time as you can with them. Take them everywhere,” LeMaster continued.
He encouraged parents to be creative in how they can bring their children into all aspects of their lives.

“No matter what, if you’re a lawyer, if you’re, you know, an actor, whatever you do, bring your kids along,” LeMaster said. “And let them be part of your lives. That’s the way it was designed.”
He knows that his role as a father means he also serves as their mentor.
“It’s like having an apprentice, right?” the actor said. “And so, you know, like the old leadership trope that you’re supposed to like show… then let them do it — that’s life. And you spend the first 18 years doing it with them.”
He learned from his grandparents’ mistakes. They showed how to live, but they didn’t push or ask their children to do the same. So their children didn’t get the full benefits they could have.
“Showing alone doesn’t work, and you have to tell them and you have to be with them,” the HOMESTEAD star explained. “And if you don’t do those things, then… it’s a toss-up. But, I think if you live life with them, spend as much time with them as you can, bring them along, and then, you know, give them appropriate, you know, freedoms at the appropriate times… I think it’ll be good.”
LeMaster is enjoying his role as Rick Baumgartner in Angel’s series, HOMESTEAD. He wrapped production on the series earlier this year. He’s shared many posts of himself on set and with the cast.
“Just wrapped season 2 of @homestead.series with @angel can’t wait for you guys to see it,” he wrote on Instagram on April 22.
“I love playing Rick because he’s the guy who didn’t plan for this, but he’ll do whatever it takes to protect his family,” the actor wrote on Instagram. “He represents so many of us—leveraging whatever skills and resources he has with one goal: survival.”
HOMESTEAD Season 2 will come out sometime later this year.
