Hulk Hogan, whose real name was Terry Bollea, died Thursday at the age of 71.
His wife, Sky Daily, revealed the wrestling legend was struggling with health issues, but she didn’t expect his demise.
“I wasn’t ready for this…and my heart is in pieces,” Daily wrote on social media Friday, July 25. “He had been dealing with some health issues, but I truly believed we would overcome them. I had so much faith in his strength. I thought we still had more time.”
Clearwater, Florida, officials said they received a 911 call from Hogan’s residence on the morning of July 24 regarding a cardiac arrest incident. Hogan was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was soon pronounced dead.
“This loss is sudden and impossible to process,” Daily said. “To the world, he was a legend…but to me, he was my Terry. The man I loved. My partner. My heart.”
He “loved his fans so much and despite his growing physical discomfort, he did everything he could to show up, sign autographs, take photos, and connect with the people who supported him through it all. You meant everything to him,” she addressed his fans.
“He was a believer in Christ, and I take comfort knowing his soul is at peace and he’s been welcomed home,” Daily added. “Please keep his family and all of us who loved him in your prayers as we try to navigate this new reality.”

Hogan left behind his daughter, Brooke, and son, Nick.
“My dad was the most incredible person I’ve ever known and will always be my hero,” Nick wrote in an Instagram post July 26. “He was the most kind, loving and amazing father anybody could ask for. I feel so blessed to have had the greatest dad in the world.”
“He was not only the best dad but also my mentor and my best friend. He always has been my best friend and I love him and miss him more than I could ever explain,” he said. “I thanked him for everything he has ever done for me and told him how much I loved him and hugged him every chance I got.”
Brooke has been estranged from her dad and hasn’t released a statement since his death.
However, Brooke’s husband said, “He died knowing what I know, Brooke loved him deeply, was fiercely loyal and only ever want him to be peaceful, happy, and surrounded by people who valued him for who he really was.”
“He chose differently for himself,” he continued. “But we can still remember him as a doting father to a little girl with big dreams and a bigger heart. The world lost a legend…”
Continue to keep Hogan’s family and friends in your prayers.
