Kathie Lee Gifford gets through the pain of the world by remembering God’s promise to come back.

“It’s hard to watch the suffering in the world and not wonder why He doesn’t come,” the Teddy Bear Award®-winning actress said on a previous episode of PRAISE. “And it’s hard. God doesn’t want anybody to suffer.”

“But we do cruel and unbelievably heinous things to one another, and those of us who believe in goodness, justice and mercy say, ‘Why Lord? Why are you waiting?’ and He’ll say, ‘Because I love them, too, and I have a plan,” she explained. “It may not be when you think it’s going to come, but it’s going to come.’”

She knows that when He comes, He will make things right.

“There will be no more tears, and there will be no more suffering. His promises are true,” Gifford said.

A couple of years ago, the actress said she believes her life would be entirely different if she hadn’t come to know Jesus.

“I’d be in an insane asylum without Jesus,” she told Fox News. “I’ve been through a lot of crappy stuff in my life. I’ve been blessed beyond belief as well. But I’ve had a lot of things that ended up being very public too, that would have put me away for a long time and done a lot of damage to my family, to my everything.”

Gifford told Fox earlier this year, “People go, I can’t believe how bold you are for your faith. I don’t care what people think. I care what He thinks.”

She added that she cares what close friends think, too.

“I pray every day, Lord, give me a generous heart. You know, the more I give away, the more He gives me,” she added. “It’s always been about that.”

“It’s a scriptural concept. You can never out give God. And if you love children, and you care for children, blessing will follow you all the days of your life,” Gifford said.

Last year, Gifford required three surgeries.

“The thing that I’m actually getting better at that I never dreamed I would is immediately praising God,” she said. “The Bible in James says ‘Consider it all joy, even with these trials and tribulations.’”

She continued, “That does not come naturally at all. We want to moan and cry out in despair. But it’s taken me a lifetime to understand that every moment is a gift.”

Gifford keeps the right perspective by keeping her eyes on things above.
