A retired veteran from Virginia won the largest prize in PRICE IS RIGHT history during a special Mother’s Day episode.
According to a press release from CBS, Vanesa walked away with $240,000 after she played “‘The Lion’s Share,’ the new high-stakes branded game that debuted this season through a partnership with BetMGM. In the game, contestants guess the prices of grocery items to earn up to five balls. Each ball is then dropped into a wind tunnel, revealing a hidden prize amount. After each reveal, contestants face a tense decision to walk away with their current winnings or risk it all to continue.”
Vanesa was very strategic in choosing her numbers, and it paid off for her big time.
She ended up with $227,500 in cash and also won “a trip for two to Morocco ($12,650 value), earning her the record. With a total of $240,150, she beat out the previous single-game win record of $210,000, which was set during a game of Cliffhangers in 2016,” PEOPLE reported.

Host Drew Carey congratulated her, saying, “Vanesa, nice job. Almost a quarter mil. Nice job… That’s amazing. Happy retirement.”
“Just so you know, Vanesa, she won $240,150 in cash and prizes, which makes her the biggest pricing game winner in PRICE IS RIGHT daytime history,” he added later on. “Congratulations.”
A video shared on social media shows Vanesa overwhelmed with her winnings.
“This winning is the largest prize won in a single pricing game in the 54-year history of the daytime version of the show on CBS!!” THE PRICE IS RIGHT wrote in the caption.
Fans of the show commented on the post to share their excitement for Vanesa.
“I’m literally crying happy tears! Omg and she’s a veteran❤️ what a way to thank her for her service! I’m thrilled for her and you guys are the best, especially Drew, he’s so caring,” one person shared.
Another said, “After the third reveal of $100,000, I was screaming for her to stop! Once again- no guts, no glory!! I was as happy for her as if I had won!”
“I cried for her this morning! I know that feeling, and I’m so incredibly happy for her! I’m still so grateful that TPIR let me live my dream 5 years ago!” someone else commented.
