Why Kathie Lee Gifford Holds Onto Hope: ‘His Promises Are True’

All the evil and darkness in the world saddens Kathie Lee Gifford, but she still holds onto hope because she knows God is in control.
“It’s hard to watch the suffering in the world and not wonder why He doesn’t come,” the Teddy Bear Award®-winning actress said on an episode of PRAISE. “And it’s hard. God doesn’t want anybody to suffer, but we do cruel and unbelievably heinous things to one another, and those of us who believe in goodness, justice and mercy say, ‘Why Lord? Why are you waiting?’ and He’ll say, ‘Because I love them, too, and I have a plan. It may not be when you think it’s going to come, but it’s going to come.’”
“And Jesus will set his feet on that beautiful mount of olives right where He left off from, and all things will be made right, and there will be no more tears, and there will be no more suffering. His promises are true.”
Gifford began to walk with Christ at the age of 12 when she watched a Billy Graham movie called THE RESTLESS ONES. As she watched it, she heard God speak to her in the theater.
“’Kathie, I love you. If you’ll trust me, I’ll make something beautiful out of your life,’” He told her.
When the movie ended, someone stood and said, “Whoever would like to make this step of faith, come forward,” and Gifford shot up. She’s followed Christ ever since.
The actress recently said she believes her life would be entirely different if she hadn’t come to know Jesus.
“I’d be in an insane asylum without Jesus,” she told Fox News. “I’ve been through a lot of crappy stuff in my life. I’ve been blessed beyond belief as well. But I’ve had a lot of things that ended up being very public too, that would have put me away for a long time and done a lot of damage to my family, to my everything.”
But she held onto her relationship with Christ and got through many events, like her husband’s infidelity, with her head held high.
“I just trust in God. I get up every morning knowing that He has something new and fresh for me. And I just try to be faithful to it. And that has brought me down an incredibly adventurous journey that I’m still on,” Gifford told Fox News in a very in-depth, faith-filled interview….
