“The wait is over. HEARTLAND has been renewed for Season 20, and production is officially underway in the heart of Alberta,” the show’s official Instagram page announced. “HEARTLAND’S 20th season follows the Bartlett-Fleming family as they celebrate the joys and face the pitfalls of life on a ranch, defying the odds and coming together like never before.”
The post continued, “Twenty seasons. That’s twenty years of a family that has felt like our own. Thank you for never letting go of HEARTLAND. Your love for this show is the reason we keep riding.”
“We’ll see you back at the ranch. Coming to CBC and @cbcgem this Fall 2026,” it concluded.

Star Amber Marshall, who plays Amy Fleming, previously teased Season 20 in an interview with High River.
“I honestly hope that we can continue making this series for another decade or more,” she said, adding that her “fingers [were] crossed” for another season.
Over the years, Marshall has adopted many of the farm-life habits of her HEARTLAND character, moving to an Alberta farmhouse and keeping dozens of animals.
“I’m kind of like Dr. Doolittle,” she joked in an interview with Cowgirl Magazine. “Animals keep me humble. They don’t care who you are or what you look like. They’re just like, all right, let’s go do this.”
Marshall explained that that portrait of ranch life is what has kept HEARTLAND popular for all these years, pointing specifically to “horses and cowgirls.”
“There’s something about the Western lifestyle. That connection between humans and horses, that people just feel. Even if you’ve never been near a horse, there’s a respect there. I think that’s what keeps people watching,” she said.
Marshall added, “I believe horses have a lot to do with the longevity of HEARTLAND. You can feel their power even through a screen.”
She also shared her thoughts on the legacy of HEARTLAND and her character, saying, “I live my life for me, but I also think about the hundreds, thousands of lives I’ve touched through the show, interviews, whatever it might be. I hear from families who say, thank you for creating something wholesome we can watch together. That means a lot.”
“I want to show people that you can be content just being who you are. Laugh at yourself. Do crazy things. Live for you, not anyone else. Do it because it feels right and makes you happy,” she concluded.
We can’t wait for the next season of HEARTLAND!
