Savannah Bananas outfielder RobertAnthony Cruz declared that God is on the move as he and his fellow athletes bring the gospel to each city they play in.

“Maybe I’m in a bubble, but Jesus seems to be on the move in the sports world,” Cruz, also known as Coach RAC, shared in a video on his social media. “Last week in Knoxville, before selling out Neyland Stadium, we hosted a worship night, and Jonathan Luders of the Texas Tailgaters shared his testimony, and all the seats were taken, so we had people standing along the outside edge of the building.”

“And now, this week, before playing in Kauffman Stadium, we are hosting a worship night at Abundant Life Church. This is in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. And again, this isn’t affiliated with Banana Ball,” he explained. “This is entirely run by players, but it’s been really encouraging to my heart seeing the next generation of young athletes not trying to gather a bunch of glory for themselves but instead surrendering their life, giving glory to their creator instead of to themselves.”

Coach RAC asked for fans’ prayers as he and his fellow teammates lead others to Christ.

“Jesus really does seem to be on the move, not just in the sports world, but just in the world, as He always has been,” the outfielder concluded. “So, if you can join us for a worship night, please do, but if not, just be praying for us — that more people might experience the joys of doing life with Jesus. We will see you this Friday in Kansas City.”

These worship nights are part of the Sandlot Revival events Cruz and others started to “worship the one true God.”

“I realize God can even use impure motives as people show up. He can use those for His good, but as we plan these worship nights, we will never advertise who will be leading worship, who will be speaking that night,” Coach RAC explained in another video on Instagram. “The vision behind this worship night is to just focus in on giving glory to God, worshiping Him and hearing from people’s testimonies.”

“This all started as a team Bible study shortly after I joined the Bananas in 2024,” Cruz said previously of what inspired Sandlot Revival, according to Religion Unplugged.

“Some weeks it was just a few players, but it slowly grew to more to around 10-15 guys,” he explained. “We ended up meeting every week in 2024. Then in 2025 we started intentionally praying for specific teammates by name. Our group started growing rapidly and we saw God work in people’s lives.”

He emphasized that the events are all about uniting the church and helping people “experience the living God and have their lives transformed by it.”

Praise God for how He’s using Cruz and his teammates to inspire faith around the country.
