Savannah Bananas star Robert Anthony Cruz (Coach Rac) just shared that he and his team will host worship nights called “Sandlot Revival,” traveling to different cities to share the good news.

“We want to start here in Savannah hosting worship nights and connecting people to their local churches,” Coach Rac explained in an Instagram video. “But we also want to be open to move wherever the Spirit leads. Picture this as we are going to a new city, and we’re going to potentially be playing that weekend. We have a worship night. We connect with some local churches in the area. Maybe we host a baseball camp, I don’t know. Want to worship God together in community, because that is where we found true peace and fulfillment and joy.”

The first Sandlot Revival was yesterday, Oct. 15, at the Calvary Baptist Temple in Savannah, Georgia.

Coach Rac and his teammate Bill Leroy will partner together to “create an environment where kids and parents can come have a ton of fun and hear about the Lord.”

The Bananas see the Sandlot Revival as a big worship night with community, food, games and fun. Most importantly, Coach Rac and his teammates are asking for prayers and any ideas to help make the Sandlot Revival even better.

“We ask for your prayers, guys that intercede on our behalf as we go about this call to bring the gospel to the next generation, asking that you guys will pray for our hearts, that it will be stewarded responsibly and faithfully,” Mehki, the event’s worship leader, said in the video.

As the Bananas worship nights continue to grow, Coach Rac wants to ensure God stays the focus.

“The point is, the reason that we are getting together is to worship the one true God. Now I realize God can even use impure motives as people show up. He can use those for Hisis good, but as we plan these worship nights, we will never advertise who will be leading worship, who will be speaking that night,” Coach Rac explained in another video shared on Instagram. “The vision behind this worship night is to just focus in on giving glory to God, worshiping Him and hearing from people’s testimonies.”

“As we plan to host worship nights in a bunch of different cities, the goal there is not to have people travel from all over the country to come to these worship nights,” he continued. “The goal is that in every city that we go to, we would connect people to their local churches so that they might be connected to the body of Christ and be shepherded by their local pastors.”

Coach Rac and his teammates will take the Sandlot Revival worship nights with them on the road next year and help their fans connect to Christ and fellow believers.
