After becoming a Christian, former supermodel Kathy Ireland lamented the years she lost to spread the gospel but found peace in Joel 2:25, which encouraged her that everything happens in the Lord’s timing.

“Joel 2:25 was first placed on my heart 18 years ago upon recognizing precious time had been wasted,” Ireland wrote on an Instagram post that included a picture of a rock with the verse written on it. “These words are more relevant today than ever. God is so good. This rock lives in my car as a constant reminder of God’s faithfulness. Though this was specifically written for the Israelites about 2,800 years ago, this is a blessing for all who place their trust in the Lord. God can redeem even our time.”

Joel 2:25 reads: “I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten – the great locusts and the young locust, other locusts and the locust swarm – my great army I sent among you.”

Ireland has certainly seen her time redeemed since making her faith the central focus of her life. Now she runs a successful business, through which she influences others for good. Meanwhile, she also uses her platform to advocate for a pro-life stance, fighting for the sanctity of all human life.

“The gospel is the core of every decision that I make,” Ireland previously told Fox News. “We’re not a Christian company. We have team members from all different backgrounds and different beliefs. I don’t force my faith or beliefs on anyone. But I’m not ashamed of them. I can’t do anything that’s going to contradict it. I cannot compromise my faith. I’m just so thankful for God’s grace because I have made so many messes in my life. And He gives us a perspective – an eternal perspective.”

While advocating for babies, Ireland emphasizes the transformational power of the gospel and the fact that even those who have chosen to go forth with an abortion do not have to live in shame because the Lord forgives and redeems all things.

“To the women who’ve had abortions—the estimation is one-in-four—just know that nothing is too big for God,” she said. “We bring it to him; we repent. He redeems and restores.”

At the same time, she is clear about the fact that the Bible calls for us to value all human life – even before a baby is born. Thus, all Christians should be against abortion, rather than allow it to continue to prosper in our nation.

It is incredible just how large of a reach Ireland has, and it is certainly true that even if she lost some time to spread the gospel, God has given her an impact that makes up for any “wasted” years.
