JERUSALEM

Watch:

What You Need To Know:

In the movie JERUSEALM, a young man has to choose between staying in the village of his youth and heritage and following his one true love to the Holy Land where a preacher claims that the Messiah is to return, soon. This epic tale has breathless photography with cinematic beauty and romance, but it depicts a preacher who twists the Bible to make his followers seek him and not Christ. It is, therefore, anti-Christian.

Content:

(AB, FR, B, C, VV, NN, M) Anti-biblical & non-Christian worldview with many biblical and Christian elements where a Messianic preacher mixes truth of Scripture with his own interpretation of the Second Coming forcing people to believe in him rather than Jesus Christ; moderate violence including two severe beatings & two knifings; rear female nudity; and deception

More Detail:

JERUSALEM is a sweeping epic tale of love and sacrifice. This true story takes us back to 1896, when a small group of people from Sweden moved to the holy city of Jerusalem. Young Ingmar, Jr. is too young to take over the family farm so it passes to another family. Raised by friends, Ingmar falls in love with the daughter of the family operating the farm. As years pass, Ingmar wants to marry the girl and hopes to regain the farm, but her family decides to follow a preacher who persuades the local church to follow him to Jerusalem to await the Second Coming. Ingmar he has to follow his love to Jerusalem or marry the daughter of the new owner of the farm in order to save his rightful birthright.

This story has heritage, legacy, passion, pursuit of faith, and personal betrayal. A man suffers for not choosing rightly and experiences heartache. Yet, even when wrong choices are made, goodness can result when a man’s accepts what is honorable and right. Scripture is spoken throughout this film through powerful imagery. A brilliant soul searching film, it challenges the viewer to analyze how easily people can be swayed by emotion versus true devotion. However, it ultimately has an anti-Christian theme and is heretical.
