Wonder Project just gave fans a first look at upcoming biblical series THE OLD STORIES: MOSES.
“I saw a fire,” Moses, played by Ben Kingsley, says in the just-released trailer. “A bush, flames wrapping around every branch, every leaf, as if the fire was alive. And I heard a voice…He knew my name. He told me that I must return to Egypt, to the place of my birth, to where my people are in bondages, slaves.”

The trailer shows shots of Moses’ life, from being saved from the river as a baby and raised by the Egyptian royal family to his miraculous parting of the Red Sea.
THE OLD STORIES: MOSES is a three-part series centered on the biblical figure’s life. In addition to Kingsley, the cast includes O-T Fagbenle (Pharaoh), Louis Ferreira (Jesse), Anna Khaja (Zipporah) and Rada Rae (Avva).
Jon Erwin created, wrote and directed the series. He also serves as an executive producer, alongside Jon Gunn and Justin Rosenblatt.
“Moses is one of the most iconic figures in history, and his story still resonates with us today,” Erwin said in a press release. “We set out to tell THE OLD STORIES: MOSES with a cinematic awe and scale that feels both epic and personal. I am especially proud of the cast performances, and I can’t wait for people to see it on Wonder Project.”
Erwin also created Wonder Project’s immensely popular HOUSE OF DAVID, which had its second-season finale last year. It premieres globally on Prime Video today.
In an interview with Nerdtropolis, Gunn, the show’s director, commented on HOUSE OF DAVID’s popularity.
“It naturally serves both faith audiences and those just looking for great drama,” he shared. “This is, in many ways, the origin of the hero’s journey. Whether it’s Frodo, Luke Skywalker or Spider-Man, we all recognize the story of someone plucked from obscurity with a destiny greater than they imagined.”
A third season hasn’t been confirmed yet, but Gunn told TV Insider, “There’s always been a sense of the trilogy of David’s rise from shepherd to king. Season 1 was David the shepherd. Season 2 is David the warrior. Season 3 would be David the king, making his way to the throne.”
THE OLD STORIES: MOSES will premiere in the US on Wonder Project’s Prime Video subscription add-on some time this spring and will hit Prime Video globally at a later date.
