Faith-based studio Wonder Project will launch a streaming channel on Amazon Prime Video this fall.

“This launch represents another step in our ongoing efforts to ensure Prime Video offers something for everyone,” said Ryan Pirozzi, head of Prime Video Marketplace.

The channel will be home to the second season of the studio’s hit Bible show HOUSE OF DAVID as well as any following stories. Wonder Project’s subscription channel will also include other “highly curated movies and TV series that reflect the company’s mission.”

Collider reported that the service is expected to cost $8.99 per month in addition to a Prime Video subscription.

Jon Erwin and former Netflix executive Kelly Merryman Hoogstraten launched Wonder Project in 2023.

“The dream of the Wonder Project is to create a trusted brand that serves the faith and values audience globally with movies and TV shows they didn’t know were possible,” Erwin said at the time. “We will achieve this by giving the creatives dedicated to this audience (including myself) a level of freedom and resources they’ve never had before.”

Audiences are certainly loving their content. HOUSE OF DAVID reached more that 40 million viewers following its release earlier this year, Reuters reported.

Because of this success and the popularity of other faith-based content like THE CHOSEN and THE KING OF KINGS, it isn’t surprising that Amazon would launch a faith-based channel.

“Never, ever, ever have I seen before four or five [studios] saying, ‘Oh by the way, if you have something of faith, we’re very interested this year,’” actor Neal McDonough told Glenn Beck earlier this year. “Something’s changed.”

The Wrap reported that other upcoming Wonder Project titles include SARAH’S OIL, releasing in theaters Nov. 7, Nate Bargatze’s movie THE BREADWINNER, series IT’S NOT LIKE THAT, movie YOUNG WASHINGTON, which follows America’s first president, and FLYER, a feature film about the Wright brothers.

“At Wonder Project, we seek to entertain our growing audience with courageous stories that restore faith in things worth believing in. Great films and TV shows bring families, friends and communities together and drive meaningful connection in a world that is craving connection right now,” Hoogstraten, who serves as CEO, said in a statement. “As a mother, I can’t wait to have this shared viewing experience in my own home — through a brand we can truly call our own.”

“We are blown away by the success of HOUSE OF DAVID and can’t wait for audiences to be swept away into the epic action and drama of season 2,” Erwin added. “Our audience is underserved and craves a destination they can trust with exceptional originals and curated movies and TV shows. With the new Wonder Project subscription on Prime Video, we will be delivering all of that and more.”

As people’s hunger for God grows, it’s incredible to see studios stepping in to share the truth about Jesus through entertainment.
