Faith Led Jon Bon Jovi’s to Save Woman’s Life: ‘Thank God’

Singer Jon Bon Jovi really is livin’ on a prayer.

Recently while filming a music video in collaboration with the band The War & Treaty in Nashville, the legendary rock singer came across a woman who was contemplating jumping off the bridge.

“In a video released by the police, Mr. Bon Jovi and another person, whom other news outlets have identified as a production assistant, slowly approach the woman, who is on the edge of the bridge, facing outward, on the far side of a railing,” The NY Times reported. “They are seen speaking to her for a minute or so, before she turns around to face them, and they lift her over the railing to safety. Mr. Bon Jovi then hugs the woman and the three walk together along the bridge, attended by law enforcement officials.”

Michael Trotter Jr. of The War and Treaty described how God’s hand was on the situation.

“So we had just got finished shooting a music video, and we hugged Jon, and we left, and 20 minutes later, the situation takes place,” Trotter explained. “I don’t even think he was originally supposed to walk the bridge, but something inside of him and his team said, ‘Let’s go on the bridge.’”

He continued, “Just goes to show you how he’s guided. Faith leads us all, doesn’t it? So thank God for Jon.”

Local Nashville officials praised Bon Jovi’s heroic efforts.

“A shout out to @jonbonjovi & his team for helping a woman on the Seigenthaler Ped Bridge Tue night,” the Metro Nashville Police Department shared on X. “Bon Jovi helped persuade her to come off the ledge over the Cumberland River to safety.”

This isn’t the first time the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge has seen this kind of incident.

In 1954, a man named John Seigenthaler, an editor for The Tennessean, prevented a man from jumping off. The bridge was renamed in 2014 to honor his heroic efforts.

Jon Bon Jovi is “Livin’ on a Prayer.”

The American singer and songwriter suffered a vocal cord injury two years ago and underwent surgery, which affected his ability to sing. Now, he is trusting in God with his health and future.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, he shared what healing from the surgery has been like.

“It sucks,” he said. “But, if I put it into comparison to athletes, and when Kobe and the achilles, or Michael Strahan and the pec, Tom Brady with the knee, Tiger Woods preparing for yet another Masters. It doesn’t get any easier for any of those guys.”

He said, “And I know their work ethic and mine are very similar. No one anticipates injury like that. And it’s up to God to fix it or not, but I’m certainly right next to the Lord himself working on it.”
