Christian artist David Crowder asked fans for prayers after he underwent “emergency surgery” for a broken leg.
“I’m not near as athletic as I thought I was. I’ve broken my leg and had to have emergency surgery, including some plates and screws,” Crowder shared on Instagram of him along with a photo of him in a hospital bed. “[I]’m on the mend and we will figure out how to get back there as soon as we can! Thanks so much for the prayers.”
Many of Crowder’s followers offered their prayers and get-well wishes.
“Praying brother! I’m so sorry!” Pastor JP Pokluda wrote.
“Crowder…What in the world…Wanted you to know that I’m praying for you. Quick healing…For sure. Love you.…MW,” Michael W. Smith commented.
“This is terrible!!! Praying!!!” Tauren Wells said.
He was scheduled to perform at the Appalachian Fair in Gray, Tennessee, CBN News said, but wan’t able to because of the accident.
“Listen, I cannot wait to get there,” Crowder said in a video posted before the surgery. “Listen, I broke something. I am not the elite athlete I suspected I was. So, here’s the deal: it’s gonna be new and improved. I’m on the mend. We put some plates in there, some screws. Some basic carpentry, carpentry for bones. We’ve got it going on. I’m on the mend.”

Crowder told his fans he would be back with them “as soon as possible.”
He also joked about how the hospital has him eating “flat meat,” which he “thinks is going to help” but isn’t too sure.
Several people in the comment section tagged Forrest Frank, another Christian artist, who miraculously recovered from a broken back in just two weeks and performed at the Iowa State Fair over the weekend.
“Oh yikes! Praying for your healing! Maybe you can beat Forrest Frank’s recovery record 😂🙏” one fan commented on Crowder’s post.
“Sorry man. Maybe try writing a song call ‘God’s got my leg’ or ‘limeade,'” another follower quipped, referencing Frank’s “God’s Got My Back” and “Lemonade,” which he wrote while recovering.
“I’m pretty much convinced God would’ve healed me day 1 from all these prayers, but He wanted these songs & this testimony come to life,” Frank wrote on Instagram in a post announcing his healing. “Regardless, i’m here for it all…ruined for the ordinary. THANK YOU JESUS 🎉.”
Keep Crowder in your prayers as he recovers and hopes to return to performing soon.
