Sony Pictures’ AFFIRM Films and Mucho Mas Media will partner for new movie, LIVE LIKE THAT.
“This is a deeply moving story about forgiveness and the kind of love that can transform a family and community,” said producer Javier Chapa in a press release last week. “It speaks to the healing power of faith, and we are proud to partner with AFFIRM Films to bring this remarkable true story to audiences worldwide.”
The movie is based on a true story of the Diaz family, who are tested by severe loss. But instead of responding in anger to their terrible loss, they choose to forgive. Their private heartbreak expands to their community, weaving in faith and connection.

Dito Montiel will direct, and Chapa will produce. Esai Morales, Roselyn Sanchez, Cameron Arnett, Ian Casselberry, Richard Cabral, Carlos Pratts and Jesse Garcia will star.
“LIVE LIKE THAT is a story that invites audiences to reflect on the importance of unity, grace, and the people who lift us during life’s most difficult moments,” said Head of AFFIRM Films, Rich Peluso. “We are proud to bring this film to theaters and share its message of enduring hope and the power of faith.”
Pratts, known for his role in MCFARLDAND, USA, shared on Instagram that he’s honored to star in LIVE LIKE THAT. He thanked the studio and director for the opportunity.
He added, “And to the real Diaz family I truly cannot wait for the world to see your story. #foreverinmyheart.”
Serial actor William Jefferson Jr. shared the release date and said, “This is for Daniel. This is for the Diaz family. This is for the glory of God.”
“What drew me to this story was how deeply real and emotionally honest it felt. LIVE LIKE THAT is about a family facing devastating loss, but it’s also about resilience and the choice to bring light into darkness. That emotional truth is what made me want to tell this story,” said Montiel.
The movie will hit theaters on Feb. 26, 2027. Deadline observed two other movies will come out on the same date: Warner Bros.’ paranoid thriller, PANIC CAREFULLY, and an untitled NEON horror film. LIVE LIKE THAT will have the most wholesome message of all and has a good chance of beating those other titles when it comes time to tally box office numbers.
