Patricia Heaton’s Christian Faith Compels Her to Stands Up for Jews

EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND actress Patricia Heaton believes it’s “up to Christians to do something about antisemitism.”
“On October 7, you could see that body cam footage from Hamas where they were gleefully murdering people,” Heaton told Fox News’ ONE NATION. “I was astonished and horrified. Then I looked around, assuming that the churches would also be horrified and outraged, and I wasn’t hearing anything. It was like crickets.
“So, I posted on my Instagram, ‘If you had been a German during World War II, don’t you hope you would have been a German who stood by your Jewish neighbors and hid your Jewish neighbors? Well, today is your opportunity,'” she recalled. “I still believe that.”
“I believe that we have an opportunity, because now we know,” Heaton added. “Maybe back in 1939 people didn’t know what was going on. We know what’s going, and it is up to us as Christians to do something about it. The Jewish people are feeling very, very alone, and they need to know that we will stand by them.”
Because of her passion for helping the Jewish community, Heaton formed a non-profit called The October 7 Coalition.
“O7C, the October 7th Coalition, is a movement of Christians committed to public and private support of our local Jewish community,” she wrote on Instagram. “We are here to unite, promote and encourage meaningful public and private action in the Christian community to strengthen relationships with our Jewish friends and neighbors. We recognize Israel’s right to exist and we visibly and vocally reject antisemitism wherever it exists.”
The organization is built on the foundations of scripture, specifically Isaiah 61:1-3, Romans 15:27, Romans 15:7-10, Psalm 121:3-8 and James 2:17.
Movieguide® recently reported when Heaton spoke out supporting Harrison Butker’s commencement speech:
She said, “I am a Catholic woman who worked through my kids’ childhood, and I believe that God opened those doors for me. Thankfully, it was a schedule that also allowed me to be a full-time mom, basically.”
She continued: “I find nothing offensive about what he said, even though my life is very different, and he might look at my life and say it’s not the way it should be, that’s okay. That’s his opinion. God has used my life.”
“I don’t understand why everybody’s knickers are in a twist. He gave a commencement speech,” Heaton said. “The audience applauded twice during the speech and gave him a standing ovation at the end, so clearly they enjoyed what he was saying.”
