LANDMAN actor Ali Larter explained that she prefers keeping her family out of Hollywood because it gives her time to actually be present with her children, rather than having her attention constantly drawn away by industry happenings.

“We just didn’t want to [be constantly gone at charity events and parties]. We wanna be with our children,” Larter told Fox News. “And so that’s when I think the biggest change was we came back [to Idaho] after that summer, and we just made a go for it and said, ‘Let’s try this and see if it works.'”

Larter and her husband’s made the decision to try to live in Idaho despite working in LA during the pandemic, and they have not looked back, not only enjoying the time with their kids but also the ability to be enveloped by nature any time they want.

“We fell in love with the beauty of the mountains and their quiet grandness,” the actress said. “Neither of us had ever lived in a small town before. People look out for each other. There’s a real sense of community here, and we’re so happy to be a part of it.”

“Looking at the mountains relaxes and inspires me,” Larter added. “Most of the time in my life, I feel like I’m going 1,000 miles an hour and these giant rocks chill me out.”

In recent years, many Hollywood stars have chosen a similar life, deciding to slow down their schedules, or even quit acting altogether, to get away from life in LA and focus on more important things in life.

STRANGER THINGS actress Millie Bobby Brown, for example, loves living on her Georgia farm where she spends her days taking care of her animals and enjoying life as a newlywed.

“I’m not doing it [farm life] for the aesthetic. I’m doing it because I love it,” Brown told Vanity Fair earlier this year. “There are maybe some trad wives [a type of homemaker influencer] out there doing it because it seems wholesome, but it is not.”

They have since turned their farm into a rescue home for dogs where she works to improve her skill at taking care of animals while also providing these dogs a better home.

“I’m able to treat wounds, take their pulse, moderate blood pressure, things like that,” she said. “I do all their medical records myself. Adoption campaigns are wonderful temporarily, but you really have to get in there and do the work to make a difference.”

While those in the entertainment industry oftentimes still need to work in LA, it is amazing to see how they shield their personal lives from the downsides of that city and choose to prioritize their families over their career.
