BOLT is the first movie that totally integrates the talents of Disney and Pixar. The Pixar touch is clearly apparent. It is good, wholesome fun from beginning to end. All the elements work together – jeopardy, danger, comedy, character, and a great deal of adorable love between Bolt and Penny. The animation is captivating, the characters are endearing, and all the elements come together seamlessly to produce one of the best movies of the year.

BOLT is a lovable, adorable, heroic, fun star in a terrific movie.
The movie opens with Bolt the super dog saving Penny from the wicked green-eyed man who has captured her father so he can use her father’s inventions to control the world. The green-eyed man sends thugs, helicopters and soldiers to kidnap Penny, but Bolt uses his super powers to save her. At the end of the explosive episode, the filming stops and the audience finds out that it’s only a TV show. Bolt is kept on the set so he never loses the feeling that he’s a super dog.
The next day’s filming goes awry. Trying to save Penny, Bolt accidentally runs from the studio and gets shipped in a box to the real world of New York City. He finds Mittens the cat, who looks like the green-eyed man’s cat Calico, and forces her to help him find Penny. She thinks he is crazy but is forced to play along to survive. Soon they team up with a hamster named Rhino, and the team has to fight its way through real danger, including escaping an animal control shelter, to get back to Hollywood.

There are only a few cautions with this movie. Some of the action violence is a little scary. Also, there’s one light reference to dogs sniffing each other. Aside from that, this movie is extremely wholesome and heartwarming. Anyone who loves dogs will want to see this movie. Anyone who loves movies will enjoy BOLT.
