CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG is a live action comedy from the beloved children’s book series. Emily and her Uncle Casey come across a circus tent with many beautiful, interesting animals. A tiny red dog catches Emily’s eye, but Uncle Casey says she can’t have him. That night, Emily opens her backpack, and the red dog is there. She hides him from Uncle Casey, but the next morning the tiny dog has grown into a ginormous dog the size of the room. Will Emily be able to keep the dog safe?

CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG is an entertaining movie with funny, heartfelt moments. The story is basic, though. So, the acting and plot are a bit predictable. This works well for children, but adults may lose interest. However, CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG has a strong moral worldview about taking care of others. It stresses helping others in need and working together. Furthermore, the main character makes a biblical reference. The movie does have some scatological humor. CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG is a live action movie from the beloved children’s book series. CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG has funny, heartfelt moments and a strong positive moral worldview about taking care of others.

Emily is a middle school girl who’s starting a new elite private school. Thus far, she hasn’t been able to make any friends. In fact, some of the girls have even bullied her and teased her for not being as wealthy as they are.

Emily’s mother must leave for a work trip and her uncle, Casey, comes to stay with her. The problem is, her uncle is irresponsible, lives out of a truck and often loses things.

On their way to school, Emily and Uncle Casey see a tent and decide to go inside. The tent has beautiful animals that are all different and mysterious. They come across Mr. Bridwell, who shows them an adorable red dog. Emily begs to have the dog, but Uncle Casey says she can’t bring him home. After school when Emily gets home, Emily opens her backpack and the red dog is inside. She decides to name him Clifford and tries to keep hiding him from Uncle Casey.

The next morning when Emily wakes up, however, Clifford has grown exponentially into a massive giant dog. There’s no way to keep Clifford from Uncle Casey now, and Clifford starts breaking things in the apartment. When the superintendent comes, they must hide Clifford from him.

Will Emily be able to keep Clifford? What should they do with Clifford now that he’s so huge?

The movie does have some cautions as it has a few scatological, toilet humor jokes. Overall, CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG is a family friendly movie for children and adults.
