More Detail:

In the last episode of OBI-WAN KENOBI on Disney+, Obi-Wan draws Darth Vader away from the rebel spaceship carrying 10-year-old Princess Leia, while Luke’s aunt and uncle try to protect him from a wounded warrior consumed by revenge because Luke’s father murdered her Jedi teacher and friends when she was young. PART VI of OBI-WAN KENOBI is a rousing, uplifting finish to the first season, which stresses mercy and fighting for liberty, but it has some strong violence and children in jeopardy, plus some references to using the pantheistic, ubiquitous “Force,” so caution is advised.

PART VI opens with the rebel spaceship carrying Obi-Wan Kenobi and Princess Leia fleeing from a Star Destroyer commanded by Darth Vader, Obi-Wan’s former student and Leia and Luke’s father. The ship’s hyperdrive needs time to be fixed, so Obi-Wan says goodbye to Leia and takes a flyer to draw Vader away.

Sure enough, Vader follows Obi-Wan’s ship and lets the other ship go. Obi-Wan lands on a nearby planet, and Vader follows him in his own ship. On the panet’s surface, Vader confronts Obi-Wan, trying to kill him.

Meanwhile, a wounded Reva, Vader’s former Inquisitor who failed to kill him, has found out about Luke and Leia. So, she lands on Tattoine to exact her revenge against Vader by killing Luke. As a child, Reva was part of a group of young Jedi in training when Vader, as Anakin Skywalker, murdered her teach and the other students. Luke’s uncle, Owen, hears Reva was asking about him. So, he and his wife, Beru, take up arms to defend their home, and Luke, from Reva.

PART VI of OBI-WAN KENOBI is a rousing, uplifting finish to the first season. Obi-Wan and Darth Vader have an exciting lightsaber duel, and Luke’s aunt and uncle courageously defend their young nephew against Reva. Obi-Wan tries to apologize to Vader for failing him as his teacher and mentor, but Vader says it wasn’t Obi-Wan who failed Anakin. Anakin destroyed himself. Later in the episode, Obi-Wan hurries to rescue Luke from Reva, but his efforts end in a surprise twist.

PART VI has some action where Darth Vader and Obi-Wan Kenobi use the mystical powers of the Force against one another. Also, Obi-Wan has a vision of Luke in danger. However, the episode’s basic premise is good overcoming evil. Specifically, mercy ends up defeating and overcoming vengeance. Thus, overall, the episode has a mixed worldview with strong moral elements. Finally, as with everything in the main STAR WARS universe, OBI-WAN KENOBI tells a story of individual people banding together to fight against the tyrannical Empire. Liberty from tyranny is a strong positive element in PART VI and the other episodes of OBI-WAN KENOBI. MOVIEGUIDE® advises caution for children because of violence, images of children in jeopardy and implied references to the pantheistic, ubiquitous “Force.”
