Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young led his team to a huge upset win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, and afterwards, he gave all the credit to God.

“Well, first and foremost, all glory to God. Without Him, I’m nothing. We’re all nothing, so the glory goes to Him,” Young told NFL ON FOX. “It just speaks volumes to this team. We were excited for the moment. We were ready. Coach did a great job preparing us. We’re just about being process-oriented, going on to the next week, day by day, building, and I wouldn’t want to be able to do that with any other group.”

Young led a game-winning drive late in the fourth quarter. The quarterback threw a 34-yard lob to Jalen Coker “down the right sideline on a third-down play leading to the go-ahead field goal in Carolina’s 23-20 win over rival Tampa Bay. The win vaulted the Panthers into sole possession of first place in the NFC South,” per FOX Sports.

“I was so excited. But again, that’s just who we’ve been — resilient. Our defense had all the confidence in the world out there,” Young told NFL ON FOX. “Lay stepping up in a big moment like that, not surprising at all. He’s a baller. He’s a young guy who’s ready for things like this. So we’re super grateful. We’re excited. We’ll celebrate for 24, and then we’ve got to refocus.”

Panthers head coach Dave Canales spoke highly of Young’s play during the game and the confidence he showed.

“Bryce just was taking what was there and the Bucs did a great job of mixing things up,” Canales said. “They showed blitz looks and popped out to (cover) two. They showed normal looks, brought blitzes and Bryce just did the right thing with the ball. He threw it away when he had to, extended the play when he could. Just the way he’s been operating, the confidence, the connection and all the hard work that he’s put in with this young group.”

Young completed 21 passes for 191 yards and threw two touchdowns in the Panthers’ win over the Buccaneers.

The quarterback and his team look to regroup and move past their win from Sunday night.

“The playoffs is a couple weeks away. We don’t have the luxury to be able to think about that and play ‘what-if.’ We have to focus on next week,” Young told the media. “Right now it’s fun in the locker room, we get to perform, but for all of us, after 24 hours, next week will be the biggest game of the year. That’s always how it will be. That’s always going to be our approach.”

It’s incredible to see a young NFL star use his platform for God’s glory.
