‘So Thankful For You’: Erin Napier Celebrates Husband Ben’s Birthday

By Movieguide® Contributor

HOME TOWN’s Erin Napier shared a sweet birthday message in honor of husband Ben’s 40th birthday.

“Lordy lordy, Big Ben is 40!” she wrote under a photo of Ben and her father holding a birthday cake. “He and my daddy both had milestone birthdays this week!”

She continued, “I want to be like you, @scotsman.co: never looking back or feeling sad about our youth getting further away, but always feeling so grateful for right now. You’ve worked so hard this year to rehab your shoulder and transformed yourself in the process. The girls and I are so thankful for you. Here’s to 50 more birthdays together. I love you!”

Erin also shared a photo of Ben’s recent weight loss, something he got serious about before undergoing shoulder surgery. He also started working to be healthier following the birth of the couple’s first child, Helen.

“Bringing Helen home and getting to experience those first few weeks with her and seeing how fast things change with children, it got my attention,” he said in a 2019 interview. “She was different every day, and I want to experience as much of her life as possible. I want a long life so I can be there for Erin and Helen.”

The couple also share another daughter, Mae, who was born in 2021.

“I was already a softie, but now Helen will be dancing to Haim in the morning… while Mae is toddling around eating a banana. I’m a puddle,” Ben said of life with their kids. “They’re just so little and innocent. I’ve never been worried about getting older or mortality or anything until I had little girls. Now I can’t stop it, I can’t hold onto it… It is the worst and the best.”

Movieguide® previously reported on how important family time is for the Napiers:

However, both are adamant that their kids always come before work – even though it took some time to adjust.

“We have had to get more help with [prioritizing family], honestly,” said Erin. “The only trick I’ve learned so far is that you’ve got to say what you need. And what I need is to be there for my kids.”

One of the biggest ways she and Ben are putting their family first? The two have a rule for themselves and their crew that they will work “normal” hours, from 8 to 5. After that, it’s family time.

“I really don’t want someone else to raise them. I want us to be 100 percent a part of their life,” said Erin.

Ben agreed: “If we are going to go on the road for [Home Town] Takeover, or if we’re going to do media stuff in New York, then we’re going to have to bring our family along with us. And so that’s how we do it. We don’t fold on our family time.”
