John Rhys-Davies Reprises Role as Gimli in LORD OF THE RINGS Video Game

Players of the new LORD OF THE RINGS video game “Return to Moria” will meet a familiar voice as John Rhys-Davies takes on his role as Gimli once again.

“It’s always fun to come back and think of the ‘what-ifs,’ and the chance to work on this game is an exploration of one of the what-ifs, isn’t it?” Rhys-Davies said.

“Actors often create characters out of love, and it’s very hard, sometimes, to let them go,” he added. “Certainly, Gimli is, for me, a character that I really adore, and I’m very grateful for the opportunity to reprise him in a different context.”

“Return to Moria” brings players to the Fourth Age of Middle Earth, offering new adventures built around the epic stories told in J.R.R. Tolkien’s books.

“Summoned to the Misty Mountains by Lord Gimli Lockbearer, players take control of a company of Dwarves tasked to reclaim the lost spoils from the Dwarven homeland of Moria – known as Khazad-dûm or Dwarrowdelf – in the depths below their very feet. Their quest will require fortitude, delving deep into the Mine of Moria to recover its treasures,” the game’s description reads.

“Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria” is now available on PC and will likely arrive on PlayStation in the future.

Along with his role in THE LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy, Rhys-Davies has worked on multiple faith-based projects, such as the Movieguide® award nominees THE PILGRIM’S PROGRESS and docudrama I AM PATRICK.

Rhys-Patrick is also a staunch defender of Christianity, boldly proclaiming the goodness that it has brought to the world.

LORD OF THE RINGS Actor Jonathan Rhys-Davies stars as Saint Patrick in the new faith-filled movie I AM PATRICK.

Davies recently attended the Movieguide Awards®, where his animated faith movie THE PILGRIM’S PROGRESS was honored.

While on the red carpet, Davies told the Christian Post, “I count myself a rationalist and a skeptic, and I find myself constantly defending Christians and Christianity.” He continued, “We seem to forget that Christian civilization has made the world a better place than it ever was.”
