Did you know comedian Leanne Morgan’s daughter once dated this now-famous country singer?

“I was in ‘Dancing With the Stars’ [at East Tennessee Children’s Hospital] and got a hernia…and so I had to get my girls to dance for me,” Morgan said during an episode of the NET POSITIVE podcast. “Morgan Wallen was in it with me.”

She recalled sitting backstage and chatting with a pre-fame Wallen, who was “so sweet,” saying, “I remember he sang and I thought he was so cute.”

“And then he and Maggie went on a couple of dates,” Morgan said, referring to her eldest daughter. “When he started following me [on Instagram], he saw her [and] direct messaged her.”

Morgan said the pair went on a few dates in Knoxville, Tennessee, where Maggie was attending college at the University of Tennessee, and that the family “loved him,” but they didn’t see too much of Wallen and Maggie.

“Maggie thought he was darling and all that, but anyway, that just kind of fizzled,” she explained.

Today, Wallen has gone on to be a massively successful country singer, with plenty of No. 1 hits, while Maggie works at the East Tennessee Children’s Hospital.

“My family is incredibly involved with East Tennessee Children’s Hospital and childhood illnesses,” Morgan told Travelgirl. “My daughter Maggie works in development and raises money for the hospital.”

Morgan is experiencing some major career highs these days. Her Netflix sitcom, LEANNE, was just renewed for a second season.

“I am so grateful to all the writers, producers, Netflix, WB, our amazing cast, and especially for all the fans of the show,” the comedian said in a statement about the renewal. “Y’all did this for us, and we can’t wait to be back!”

Morgan’s second stand-up special, UNSPEAKABLE THINGS, is also set to hit Netflix Nov. 4.

“I just shot my second one for them, and I’ve got a deal for a third in 2027,” she said of the special in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “And then they gave me this show [LEANNE] — me and Chuck Lorre walked in there and I said something about having a weak pelvic floor, I was nervous, and they were basically like, ‘What do you want to do? We’ll do it.’”

It looks like both Morgan and Wallen have come a long way from their early days in the entertainment industry!
