Candace Cameron Bure has been named one of the spokespeople for America Reads the Bible, an upcoming event celebrating scripture and America’s spiritual foundation.
“Candace’s deep commitment to faith and family makes her a powerful advocate for this historic initiative,” Bunni Pounds, founder of Christians Engaged, the organization putting on America Reads the Bible, said in a statement.

“America Reads the Bible is a national Scripture-reading event and movement led by Christians Engaged — a nonprofit organization committed to discipling Americans on biblical worldview and their responsibilities as citizens to pray, vote, and engage for the wellbeing of our nation,” a description of the event on its website reads.
The description continues, “This initiative invites Americans from every background to return to the spiritual foundation that has shaped our country — the Word of God. Over the course of one week, leaders and everyday citizens alike will participate in a public reading of the entire Bible, bringing together voices from government, education, business, the arts, and the Church.”
“In honor of the 250th birthday of the United States, America Reads the Bible serves as a spiritual celebration of our nation’s founding ideals and a call to rediscover the truth that still anchors us today,” it concludes.
America Reads the Bible will be produced by Great American Media and streamed on Great American Pure Flix.
“Candace has been a trusted voice for faith and family values for decades, and we’re honored to have her serve as a top spokesperson for America Reads the Bible,” Bill Abbott, President and CEO of Great American Media, said in a statement. “Recent tragedy has reminded us how important it is to come together around faith and prayer. In a separate statement about the event, Abbott said, “America Reads the Bible is a powerful reminder that the foundation of our freedoms is deeply tied to the Word of God. This historic partnership reflects our mission to celebrate faith, family, and country by bringing this national moment into every home.”
America Reads the Bible will be held April 19–25, 2026, at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C., and livestreamed on Great American Pure Flix over seven days from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. You won’t want to miss it!
