Great American Media and Christians Engaged have teamed up for an “America Reads the Bible” event at the Museum of the Bible in D.C. next year.
“One week. One Nation. One Book,” America Reads the Bible’s slogan reads.
The event is part of America’s 250th birthday celebration.
Christians Engaged is a nonprofit that encourages political education, voting and prayer among Christians. Great American Media is a family-friendly hub for content. Its brands include Great American Family, Great American Pure Flix, Great American Living and more.
“This is a national call to ignite revival, inspire discipleship, and unite believers through the power of Scripture,” Christians Engaged Founder Bunni Pounds said.
The event will be held April 19-25 next year and will be available for online attendees via live format from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Great American Pure Flix, Crosswalk reported Aug. 4. There will be a kickoff event on the evening of April 18, but tickets are limited, per America Reads the Bible’s website.
Americans from all 50 states will read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation throughout the week.
“We believe the Word of God can transform individuals and nations — and we’re inviting Americans to participate by listening or reading it aloud together, in a powerful act of unity and faith,” Pounds said.
The event was inspired by Ezra, who read God’s word aloud publicly.
“America Reads the Bible is a powerful reminder that the foundation of our freedoms is deeply tied to the Word of God,” said President & CEO of Great American Media, Bill Abbot. “This historic partnership reflects our mission to celebrate faith, family, and country by bringing this national moment into every home.”
Hopeful attendees may purchase tickets to the main event for $50, starting Aug. 14. Tickets include full access to the museum for the day, access to the World Stage Theatre and the Live Presentation for up to three hours, access to the private art gallery and the chance to meet and pray with the event’s top discipleship partners.
“United we stand at this historic crossroads to inspire our nation to remember our Christian roots, to walk deeply in faith, and to elevate the Word of God in every area of American life into the next 250 years of our national story,” Pounds said.
According to NPR, there will be some celebrities and ordinary people reading the Bible at the event. However, the celebrities that will be reading have not been named yet.
