In January, Muniz shared a glimpse of his faith in an Instagram video. He posted a clip of himself jamming to some worship music one minute and then pulled over by a police car the next.

“Hilarious contrast of feeling good praising God, to being p*** off in the matter of minutes,” captioned Muniz. “All part of His plan so you have to trust the good and the bad.”
“This makes me so happy! Grew up watching MALCOLM IN THE MIDDLE and seeing you worship Jesus makes me even happier. God bless!” one person commented.
“Keep living and sharing Jesus. This is so sweet to see,” another commented.
After Muniz’s stint as a child star, he left Hollywood for a long period. He’s currently a race car driver in addition to an adult actor.
“I think for a lot of people, it’s probably difficult to go from having such success at a young age where you always have people going like, ‘Oh, I love you,’ and everyone wanting you here and there. And then that starts to fade,” he explained previously.
He knows fame shouldn’t be his goal, and life has so much more meaning. Though he had his struggles, he decided he’d never turn to drinking or drugs like some of his peers have.
“A lot of people try to replace the missing feeling of [being] wanted with something else. And that really is a negative for a lot of people,” Muniz shared.
Of leaving Hollywood, he said, “I’m so lucky taking that step back happened, because it made me appreciate everything more. It allowed me to do other things and realize a lot more about myself.”
Muniz recently shot a MALCOLM IN THE MIDDLE reboot for Disney+ that’s expected to come out sometime this year.
“I’m racing and I’m focused on it,” he says, “but I hope MALCOLM comes out and people want to see me as an actor again, because I would love to go back in that world.”
“Having stepped away from Hollywood a bit to focus on other things and get the opportunity to jump back into it in a big way was awesome,” he said of taking up his role as Malcom again. “At times, you take things for granted… now I try to put more effort into everything.”
The new series will have four episodes. The original MALCOLM IN THE MIDDLE series is available on Disney+ and Hulu.
